Hello everyone, like many of you I have been thinking about how the new Hydreigon card could work in a deck. However,I noticed most people are partnering it with Mandibuzz and Absol to make a snipe deck. However i believe that I may have discovered a different partner for him.

(also here is hydreigon translation for anyone that doesn't know)
Hydreigon – Darkness – HP150
Stage 2 – Evolves from Zweilous

Ability: Dark Aura
All Energy attached to this Pokemon becomes Darkness Energy.

[D][D][D][D] Dangerous Blade: 60 damage. Choose 2 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon, and this attack also does 40 damage to each of those Pokemon (don’t apply Weakness and Resistance when damaging the Bench).

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Psychic (-20)
Retreat: 3

And the preferable starter:http://www.serebii.net/card/triumphant/091.shtml

So the way this deck would go is o start with Absol to place 20 damage on everything, then when the time is righ bring out hydreigon to spread everywhere, after the damage is spread out all over your opponents Pokemon you bring in Darkrai Cresselia Legend, then use moon's invite for just 1 psychic energy to take a couple prizes.

Basically I think this could be a decent deck in the future, but that's my opinion, now i wanna hear yours.

I think this would work better as a 1/1 tech in the deck. It's more of a surprise game finisher than a consistent secondary attacker.

i like the idea. but sadly, its been done. Tyranitar.

tyranitar does a better job. its spread only takes 1 energy and does upto 120 overall dmg spread. this does not take into consideration extra damage done with special darks.

hydreigon really doesnt provide any other benefit over spread compared to tyranitar.
tyranitar also has high hitting attacks for those tanks. it also has powerclaw which can damage any deck that tries to stop you from attacking

I like the idea but personally I would rather run DCL as a tech to ko the opponents main attacker instead of a full blown partner which I think IMO should be a fast attacker that can weaken pokes preparing for a snipe while stalling to get as many sp darks on hydregion as possible. I really think that a hydregion with a decent amout of sp dark energy could effectively turn the tide of a game giving you a tempo advantage.

Cheers

Hmmm. Thanks for the feedback everybody,I guess this deck just wasn't meant to be though.

It'd go in ReshiBoar Perfectly. Hydreigon already states that all energies attached to it are dark. So with Emboar (abilty), I could attach four to Hydreigon, and be set. The card is amazing!
