I am having trouble with making an avatar

To make your own original avatar I am pretty sure you need photoshop, right? Any places where I can get it for free?

And also I don't really get how to post an avatar near your name when you get one, I read the instructions but don't really understand them, maybe I need to read them closer.

It appears like it should make sense and should be easy, but I have never made an avatar before and having some trouble. If the instructions are exactly how you make an avatar step by step then just tell me, so you don't have to write an essay, lol.
 
You don't absolutely need photoshop. I made mine on paint. (It's kinda crappy though. ^_^' But, oh well.) Sadly, no. You have to buy photoshop. You can't download it.
 
Of course I have to download it by paying money, but my friend told me you can download it illegally somewhere... xd. Hypercam2 I downloaded for free, the "trial version" I was wondering if there was a "trial version" or illegal site to download it. And also I have a question, how do you upload pictures? I think you use a digital camera and then put it onto my pictures somehow and then somehow go to photobucket. Do you know how to transfer it from a physical photo to an avatar? I think it shows on the uh tips thread but I am not sure it tells exactly. And also, What is photobucket, how do you get it?, and how do you use it?
Also I am wondering how you get the thing below your name, it says Rookie on mine, how do I change it?
 
It's impossible to download photoshop. (I've tried. XD) To get it from a photo to an avatar, you have to either use a scanner on a printer or upload it from a digital camera to "My pictures". To get it into the required size here, you'd have to use a program that comes with your printers' scanner, if you have a printer with a scanner. Lastly, photobucket is a website that you can upload photos and pictures on so you can use them on other websites. Just go to photobucket.com and sign up for an account. Hope this helps. :)

It is actually possible because believe me, there is no chance in the world that I would pay for a computer program (it's not that I wouldn't but I just don't have the money ;P)! So I downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS 3 Extended and I'm quite happy with it! So yes, you can get it for free, you just have to look in the right place,... Now getting a valid Serial Key is a tottaly different story but even that isn't impossible!
Just go to youtube find a high quality video and then write down the serial, and follow the instructions of the video!

If not, you can just get any picture of the net and edit it using Paint.
 
Yeah I was thinking about getting a picture of a "beagle" and a "deagle" and rearranging it and pasting it physically without photoshop, and somehow making it into something that photoshop could also do, but without it.

Like printing out a picture of a beagle and deagle and manually gluesticking them or painting them onto a piece of paper, then yeah make it into my avatar. If I cannot do that I will find out some other way to get an avatar that I want.
 
Why print and scan when you can directly copy and paste it into a program? >.>
 
XD I don't know, I don't know that much about computers. But at least copy-pasting using a computer will save glue.
 
You could go to the Celedon Mart and go to a shop you like and Request an Avvy if you want one..
