Hello, Im new here, as well as new to the TCG era of pokemon, and I was wondering if you all think that I should start off with buying the newer cards, or if I should go to a trading club of somesort, and start off with some classics! (I'm sorry if this isn;t in the right area to be asking, but I searched around, and I couldn't find anything relating to this topic)

General TCG is where you're looking for. It discusses whether which card or set or etc. is good.

The get off the good foot, I bought a new deck and then some booster packs. Try to focus on collecting for just building one deck. Later, you should be able to trade enough to have a good collection. Have fun!

Yeah... try to build up your collection a bit with cards you need for your deck FIRST. Then, you can build up a trading collection.
