I just signed up because I had to share this. Mainly because I am confused as hell.

Today I bought a bunch of cards that were on sale at my local game shop. First off, this is a legit game shop -- I've shopped / played there for years and have never had an issue with fake cards or packs. Second, the pack in question was part of one of those official 3-in-1 blisters (that come with the Pikachu promo holo).

I'll get right to it. I opened a BC pack, and it had three SR where the uncommons should be. Pic: http://i.imgur.com/zwjW01j.jpg

I've been Googling for the past hour trying to find if this is something they do or not, but haven't had much luck outside of a YouTuber who had the same thing happen (3 SR where the uncommons should - http://youtu.be/LcnOaiNFOok ).

I know some Magic sets have random packs that are all rares. Is this something that happens in PTCG? Is it an error? Has anyone else here had something like this?
 
I opened two tins where all 5 commons were uncommons in the 2 XY packs. It seems there was an entire case with this error. Simplypokemon recently opened a box where in every other pack the first 5 cards were reverse holos.
 
So I'm just lucky as a freakin' leprechaun then??

My mind is still so blown. That camera pic is blurry because my hands were literally shaking. I thought I did the shuffle wrong when I saw the first SR. Then I saw two more. I literally sat there just looking at the cards for like 10 minutes trying to remember if this is something that Pokemon Co. does or not.

I guess if I'm going to get an error pack, at least it's one with SRs!

I guess it's just an packing error.

Last time I watched SimplyP0kemon's unboxing of Flashfire and he has got 5 reverse holos (rares, commons, uncommons) instead of 5 commons in almost every booster pack (here's the link http://youtu.be/gf_r5qJ_7K4 )
 
Either you got lucky or this is fake. I'm honestly going with #2, there isn't much evidence to really support that this happened, sorry.
 
It's okay. I'm not sure how I can prove it since I wasn't filming when it happened. I kinda expected people to think it's fake.

I was more wondering if this is something that they did for BC. But I see now it's an error pack, and an awesome one. So I'm happy.

I wouldn't worry about proving it. Most people wouldn't bother to make an account to pull a fast one on members with false booster pack openings. I am sure you are telling the truth, but if not, you got me. :p

Errors can happen but I have never heard of something like this. Weirdest I ever had was a horrendous batch of duplicates from EX Unseen Forces awhile back. I opened a box worth and pulled an absurd amount of duplicate Holos, but no pack errors.

Haha, I never knew strange errors were common like this. Well, not "common", but you know what I mean. I've been collecting since Skyridge and this is my first error pack.

I am seriously considering getting the wrapper framed with a plaque that says: "The Pack" :D
 
Damn, all I can say is that you're quite lucky. I've got one pack that was sort of an error once, one of the cards was sealed into the seem of the wrapping. Poor card was ruined before it was out of the pack.
 
The Poke-Gods have sent me something to change my views on this story

Went to Walmart today and got a pack of Flashfire. 5 of the cards in that pack were reverse holos o_O

I guess your story seems more legitimate now. Congratulations on getting those SRs if they were truly legit.

Now that you mention it, I've had that happen once before too in a pack from one of the DP sets back in the day. I remember taking it out of the blister and the top of the pack was already opened, because a card had gotten in the way. :/

Luckily it was just a common that got the checkerboard imprint on the top. :p
