I haven't played since HS Unleashed. How can I get back into the game?

As the title says, I haven't played in such a long time, but I really want to play the TCG again. What things do I need to know? Are there any articles I can read to catch me up on the latest and coolest cards, decks, and rules? The last time I played, I was playing a Rogue Ampharos deck and the Supporter cards were changed to be named Trainers! D:
 
well... first of all the rules have been changed. now you may play supporters and trainers turn one.

as for winning decks.. first week of states and provincials just finished so go have a look at the results.

the current rotation is HGSS - on. so some of your cards may still be modified legal.

the current game is shifting in favour of basic pokemon with high HP. have a look at the latest sets and you'll see some basic pokemon with 120, 130 and up to 180 hp. they are definitly powerful and you should get your hands on some ASAP.
