Ok so first so first all I bought brawl (Pre-owned)
I got in my house and ran upstairs to my wii.
Then I put the disk in, I went on practice mode for a feel of what the characters moves are and then went onto subspace emissary
Then DISK COULD NOT BE READ screen right in front of my face.
I tried resetting it but everytime I go onto subspace emissary it crashed.
And it sometimes keeps saying error code 5574930 or something

I took it out and there was a scratch all around the edge of the rim.
So I am taking i back today
But any idea's on what the error code is?

That sucks. If you buy pre-owned video games you allways need to check the disk first.
I don't know what the error code is. It probably just means that the disk was too dirty to be read.

Simple. Pre-Ordered games are usually scratched/dirty, Thats the reason people return them. >_<

The game has a tendency to not read in some Wiis, if you get another copy and it still doesn't work you might need to call Nintendo to get you Wii's lens cleaned. SSBB is the first Wii game to use dual-layered disks so the Wii's laser needs to not be worn out/dirty, which happened to a lot of people at launch.

The Wii drive issue is a legitamite one, but if he did find a scratch than I suggest he replace it first. If if happens again, and the disk looks fine, then call Nintendo about getting your Wii fixed.

Yes. Watch out for a few pre-owned games; ALWAYS check the disk before driving out of the parking lot (or walking out of the store in the mall).

Usually disks cannot be read because of the console's eye. My GameCube does that sometimes because it's pre-owned as well. If you can, check to see if the eye is damaged, scratched, or contains a large accumulation of dust on it. If not, then the game is the problem. Sorry dude.

Oh, I doubt is it, but make sure that the game is NTSC not PAL.

Thanks I will make sure to check this next time a get a pre-owned game
No worries I should be on wi-fi in a matter of hours

I was about to yell at you because I thought you were disappointed in the game, lol.

Normally when I buy pre-owned games I always check the disc before leaving. If it's pretty ugly, I politely ask if I could get a different disk, or if it's the only one available, have it cleaned for no charge. Now I've been going to my Gamestop for...uh, well, since it opened, so I've gotten to know the employees there really well and they'll do it without a problem. Then again, different people, different places, just be sure to be polite about it.

Not a rip off. The way I see it, the buyer (no offense) did not make sure it was test played by its predecessing owner.

Amt, A_A didn't revive the thread. Not only that, he was a former mod. He wouldn't revive. T-Tar Master was the one who revived it. You should check the dates before warning. ;f

EDIT: Bam forgot to lock this thread. D:
