Okay. So last year I was part of a dance team. I stopped dancing this year so that I could go to more tournaments because I enjoyed Pokemon more. I also stopped dancing so that I could practice more and do better in the card game.

So, I'm no longer dancing but I'm going to do all 4 sports this year in school. This includes (in order) basketball, track, soccer, and volleyball. I thought this wouldn't conflict with Pokemon at all, but my parents mentioned that most of the games were on Saturday morning, which is when registration for most of the tournaments are. This made me really upset. I'm doing sports just to stay in shape and to be more involved in my school, also to try and get the Chic Vendetta Award at the end of the year. (An award that goes to 1 boy and 1 girl in the graduating class that played all 4 sports and have the highest grades in their class) I'm pretty much the smartest girl in my class.

So, my question is to all you Pokemon lovers, what should I do? I guess occasionaly I could miss a game for a Saturday tournament, but I really wanted to try harder and be a better Pokemon player this year.

Seconded. It sounds like you're in a really good position to get this award, so I wouldn't throw it away just for cards.

Okay I understand both your points and I agree. There will always be tournaments on Sunday, too.

Just do whatever feels right, if your not happy doing something stop and trying something new. And remember that the only person stopping you from following your dreams, is yourself.

Yeah, I agree with the above. Do what you enjoy, but I think you would get more out of playing the sports.

edit: ninla'd. I meant that I agree with Ghostboy and peetzaman when I said the above. Although imsocool4321 is right too

Wait is this award in middle school? And is it just a school thing? Not like nationwide or statewide?

Yes well 4 sports is a bit excessive. If this is only a school wide award, then it’s not really worth it. I know it will make people proud, but it won’t really make a difference of college transcripts.

It depends. Pokemon is fun, but it won't become more than a hobbie for most. Sports and academics can actually take you places, and wsin you scholarships and get you ahead in life. You shouldn't be giving up opportunities just to play Pokemon. Pokemon should come second to school. That doesn't mean you should renounce Pokemon from your life though, just work around school. If you have a game on Saturday, then talk to your PO and get the tourney or PR on Sunday. It's all about prioritizing. Balance, between sports and Pokemon. Balance...

Yea. The award is just for my school but it is a huge achievement. The most I could get is like a 300 dollar scholarship, which isn't much for where I want to go to high school (it's another private school)

And, if you look long term, if you get ahead in life then you have money to spend on cards. Besides, 300 dollars is 300 dollars.

I gotta agree with venasour. You have to keep thinking about the big picture and your future. So you're gonna miss tourneys...it happens.

Pokemon is a great game. my bro plays it all the time. :)

u should leave room for other sports (wich is what u r doing) allthough cant you do soccer every other weekend?

idk im not good at planning

Priorities. This, basically.
It hurts to say this, but:
Academics > Sports > Hobbies (yes, that includes Pokemon :( )

just dropping by to say that "chic vendetta" is an awesome name and whoever thought that up in your school should be given a chic vendetta award.

how exactly do you do basketball and soccer in the same year anyways..?

There was one person who got a perfect 2400 on SAT and a perfect GPA and all the right classes. I.E. AP, honors, dual enrollment, etc. He wasn’t even accepted into all the IV league schools all because he wasn’t a leader and wasn’t in any clubs or sports. You need a good balance of everything.

Oh. My school is private so you don't play the sport for the entire year. There is 1 sport per quarter, so there are 2 sports in a semester.

School beats Pokemon out anyday, down the road it's what matters on your Report Card, not the little colored sheet with standings on it.

actually, your grades in middle school and before mean absolutely nothing in regards to getting into colleges and the like
