4th Place at swedish nats

well i was at the swedish nats yesterday and finished at 4th place with my t2b :) but it was one thing that was not quite as i expected. in seniors there were almost no gg and almost no magmortar. the thing that everyone played was either t2b with lots of techs or honchcrow & darkrai. now how to counter this new and different metagame?? what deck would you suggest? also im sorry if i post this in the wrong place but i dont know where elso to post it..:(
 
T2 houndoom should be able to take t2b due to the weakness if u want to keep playing T2 and against the darkrai decks maybe a gallade cessation lock? thats just what comes to mind at the moment though
 
but if i play gallade i would be crushed by all the t2b decks.. t2 houndoom is a good idea but i think i woul like to try something else from t2 decks now
 
^T2 Houndoom is not a good choice in the current format due to lots of Gallades, Magmortars and Gyaradoses, all of which can OHKO you. Being OHKOed is truly a bad thing for T2 decks, that's why I'm not playing them anymore...for now. All current T2 decks have too little HP. Also, Houndoom is a worse choice than, for example, Banette, because of the loads of free retreat options, making the Burn condition pretty much to laugh at.
Against Banette, it's pretty much an auto win though. But most decks with enough Gyarados/Magmortar and NM can win from Banette, since Banette can't KO those in one shot ever. Same holds true for Empoleon variants, especially with the new Omastar and the poor 40 HP Shuppets. This is even worse, since the Banettes themselves won't get KOed, thus meaning less Banettes in the discard pile = less damage potential.
 
he said there werent any gallades or mags in his original post, thats why i recommended houndoom for bannete.

mag or an empoleon deck would probably do pretty well against your meta game from what you listed
 
thank you.. altough at first i wanted to be alternative but whateva.. ill look around and see what cards i should get.. :)
but wait!.. how would a poison deck do against that ? i think that they look like a great fun to play.. an also would they be able to stanup against one or two ggs and mags? but the main concern would be honch an banette
