I'm in Hawaii, on the Big Island, and I was woken at 6 a.m. by the Tsunami warning, now it's 8:11 and my family is going to evacuate to my cousin, Andre's place up the mountain. It's scary and kinda actually exciting at the same time! I can only take my most valuable possessions so I'm taking my Wii, DS, wallet, ukulele, Pokemon cards, my Michael Jackson albums and some Wii/Gamecube/DS games...
So yeah. I just thought it would be good to make a thread to share experiences and support each other. Feel free to post even if you're not in Hawaii or Chile!

I feel your pain, since I live in Florida and we get hurricanes a lot.

I wish you luck, and be safe!

Oh man, yeah, I used to live in Florida! I moved when I was just 6 though...
Thanks for the support!

I live in New York where we mostly just get blizzards for our natural disasters, but occasionally we get floods which are rather unpleasant.

Good luck to you, though! I hope everything works out okay.

Thank you. :)
But LOL, blizzards don't sound so bad!
Edit: To everyone: I don't know if I'll be able to reply again for a while. The police just went down the street a few minutes ago telling everyone to leave, sirens are blaring, we got to go soon.

Blizzards basically shut down power and make it so you can't leave your house. It's also frickin cold and the wind makes it worse .-.

Oh, and trees fall down. Quite often. There are lots of trees in New York, and having every fourth one fall down or lose branches is a bit of a problem.

Well, sure it's annoying, but if you're inside there's no real danger, right? I don't know, I've never been in a blizzard, and I'm not used to cold... T_T

I live in Sydney (but no where near the coast), we're also on the Tsunami watch list.

I live in Minnesota. We don't get Tornadoes. We don't get Hurricanes. We don't get Blizzards often. We don't get Tsunamis. We don't get Earthquakes. We don't get anything, except for some powerful storms sometimes, and-my aunt Jannettes bacon jerk dip. *shudders*

Lol no JK I don't have an aunt Jannette. Lol. But I feel for you. Be safe, I hope its just a warning, and nothing to severe comes out of it.

Wow, this EQ was massive. 0_o I hope everyone is ok.

dmaster out.

I live in Pennsylvania. And we can get some wicked snowstorms. Hey we had 2 in the span of 14 days...

And in the summer, it can it get very humid...

Make sure you are safe and like the above, make you're most valuable possessions safe. Hope you and you're family are safe, god bless you.

In England we generally don't get anything, apart from rain all the time.

re-prioritize your most valuable possessions imo

I was thinking this also. Considering you live in a place where natural disasters can hit, it'd be a safe bet to assume your family has some sort of home owner's insurance just in case something were to happen. And lets say something did happen, that insurance will pay for most the items that were lost. Most valuable should be things that are irreplacable. Maybe photo albums, maybe something you were given to a loved one that has passed, electronic items can be replaced, but items like those can't.

they just announced that the Tsunami will NOT be hitting hawaii, it will be hitting Chile unfortunately.

Well, I'm here watching the news and they said the tsunami hit, but the people they interviewed said it wasn't as bad as they expected. I have lots of family in Hawai'i, but luckily they are OK. Best wishes to everyone caught up in this disaster.

Ummm, the tsunami, its going to hit Japan.

and with Chile, they're saying the Quake in Haiti was alot worse, so yea its bad, its not that bad.
