Is Gengar-EX from Phantom Forces Standard Legal?

I know that phantom force is going out of rotation this year in standard. but since they are making https://www.chaoscards.co.uk/pokemo...cts-pokemon-c15/pokemon-gengar-ex-box-p140670 a gengar ex box does this mean that he can be used in standard now or still no? thank you for your time

If that is an actual promo card, with a promo number like XY178 (The last promo released in NA I believe was Karen as XY177) then yes, the phantom forces one will be allowed to be used again. It will become standard three weeks after the release of that box in the region you're playing.

If that box has the Gengar with the PHF set icon and number, then no it will not be standard since it's not a true promo card, but simply the Phantom Forces card in a box.

There's five of these boxes -- of the three released so far, Charizard and Dragonite are straight reprints whereas Mewtwo is a Promo (since it has new art). Gengar has the same art/attacks, so you can expect it to be a reprint and thus not Standard legal.

Thank you its a real disappointment that it wont be a promo and legal in 2017 its a really good card
