Help Is Lost March still competitive?

I haven't faced Malamar much on the online ladder, but aside from UNec's GX attack, is there really anything to be afraid of? The setup speed is about the same, and if you wanted to avoid UNec's Scorching Light, you can just put all your >70HP mons on your bench (Jumpluff, Marsh, Orang, etc.) and only use Natu in the active or not at all.
I do agree that facing Zapdos is a nightmare, and I'm afraid that's the only reason keeping me back from building the deck irl.
EDIT: I forgot Giratina existed. My bad.

Just so that everyone noticed you did remember after a bit. ;) Otherwise we'll have multiple posts "reminding" ya. XD

I think Lost March could make a splash sometime in the future. All of the core cards stay in rotation. If Zapdos becomes much weaker after rotation, which looks likely, then that improves Lost March. Same if Malamar fades a bit, which I guess is less likely.

Like everything else, Lost March loses DCE with rotation (barring a reprint, of course).

H’m not sure how does it perform against the main threats of the format
Lost March can certainly hit 220, so Zoroark GX decks, have that to worry about. But if you can't OHKO, Acerola can stop you from two-hit KO-ing it.

The Shuckle GX match is horrible, cos once you attack a Super Booster Energy prism star, they E hammer it, and you're stuck attaching more energy cards to Jumpluff.

PikaZek can go either way. If you can't swing for 240 early game, they could take a lot of prizes. They can Full Blitz, attach energy to a benched PikaZek, and start attacking with the next PikaZek, instead of keeping the old PikaZek active, accumulating damage.

Granbull is weird, cos you can OHKO their Magcargo, but they usually have a second ready soon after, so you don't completely disable them, by doing that. If they fail an All Out 2 or more turns, you win, because you're just doing 1 prizers against 1 prizers, and your attack never "fails" the way that theirs can. Your Pokemon are either in the Lost Zone, or they're not, and they don't leave.

I’m curious why you would mention Granbull, which sees no play anymore.

Disclaimer: I sometimes still use a Granbull deck on the PTCGO, and tend to enjoy playing it. ;)

Sometimes League/PTCGO/etc. games involve "obsolete" archetypes and can be surprisingly common in a "local" metagame. As for actual competitive play, it seems to have died out in the west but at least one semi-recent Japanese tournament had one make it into the Top 64. Specifically, a 53rd place finish at the Kyoto Champions League on April 14th.

That probably doesn't sound too impressive at first, but that was out of 1489 participants; 53rd place puts it in the top 3.56% of finishes! @_@ The other important thing to know is that, like a lot of decks, our latest set might give it at least a temporary boost. As is typically the case, sometimes players will try new decks that won't really work in the long run, either at all or with respect to that particular build. Even established decks can suffer that fate. In turn, this means a so-so list can do well for a short period before it once again fails to regularly make the top cut.
