Discussion Is Marowak the End of Toad?

Even playing a 1-1 line of Marowak is too much space to get rid of in every deck. It will see play in decks like Vespiquen and Raichu, but not an every deck thing against Siesmotoad-EX or any other locking pokemon.
Play it as Maxie's. That puts it into Night March, Yveltal, and possibly Vespi.

I don't think so, as Battle Compressor has tons of use in many decks. If you ban Battle Compressor, you are effectively ruining not only Night March, but Vespiquen, and are stopping the use of any Maxie or Archie combo. Battle Compressor has many uses in other decks as well, such as getting rid of unwanted cards, or setting up a Battle Compressor - VS Seeker combo.

I say ban it because there is not counter play options for Night March and Vespiquen decks. I rather hurt those two decks than worry about another deck trying to get supporters in the discard pile. My point was it shouldn't be too easy to get these things off. Archie and Maxie are supposed to be last ditch effort cards, like Trump Card was but was banned because of abuse. I don't know where the mindset of 'easy to play, so it must stay' comes from.

To me, these are skill-less decks that play themselves. No one likes playing against a deck where the only option is to hope the opponent draws poorly to get a win. Battle Compressor gives too much utility to far too many decks. No card should ever be 'unwanted' if its in the deck. All it does is favor bad deck design and unhealthy play styles.

What is wrong with expanded? At the moment I would say standard is more broken than expanded. Week One of States, Night March picked 2600ish CP! Second place:Yveltal with 990... In this format, you either play Night March, Megas, or T1 Item Lock. Toad is probobly the worst deck to play at a tournament.

The problem with expanded is it allows all copies of all cards to be played when the most dominate decks get access to other cards. Its not a matter of which format is unhealthier but I don't want a format where LaserBank is a thing behind trainer lock.

Before I start, you have said that you want both Seismitoad-EX and Battle Compressor to be banned...

These plays have been common since the time of US Nats... Also, this would create a bad format. In Standard, M Man would be useless, Yveltal XY would be very bad, and VS seekers would probably get cut for 4 Shaman-EX to make up for consistency. At that point the format would probably dissolve into Darkrai-EX vs BatMan vs Lucario/Bats vs M Ray vs ToadTina. It would probably be a more narrow format than our current one. Also, banning Battle Compressor would probably make Toad stronger, a card you said you wanted to ban. In Expanded, Yveltal would be worse, M Ray would be worse, and Sable Garb would be worse. It would probably make the format Toad/Bats vs Trevenant vs brave Yveltal players... Think about what that ban would do...

That's not any different then what I see now. Banning those cards would mean people actually have to play the game. I know that's bad for some people but the game is much better off without them. I don't like expanded. They need to let B/W die like all sets before it. That series was toxic to the game and XY continued it. Yveltal EX being worse is no concern of mine.

Not all decks need to be stupidly overpowered to be considered good. Removing Battle Compressor doesn't make decks bad. I also don't know how it makes toad stronger.

I'm with you on this one. An easy fix for this would have been to print a reverse version of battle compressor or a reverse super rod even. "Shuffle three Pokemon or basic energies back into your opponent's deck." But it hasn't happened yet. If they're rotating PHF out this year, it won't really be necessary anyway though.

Reminder to everyone that this is a thread about Marowak and Seismitoad-EX. If you'd like to discuss Night March, Battle Compressor, or any other topics I'd encourage you to start another thread and keep this one on topic :)

Seismitoad Garbodor will still be just as good as before. The other variants are what need to be worried. Hex can only carry it so far.
