Is PMD Explorers of Sky worth buying? Also, best starter and partner?

Hi Pokebeach users. I need some help.

1- Is Mystery Dungeon Explorers of sky worth buying?
2- Also what is the best starter and partner Pokemon to start off with?

If you played the others, dont waste your money. Otherwise it's a good buy. You really can't decide who you want to play as anyways since its a poll thing.

I only played Blue Rescue team though. I didn't even beat. But what are some recommended starters? I like Mudkip, Charmander, Riolu, and Squirtle.

Well, If you havn't played time or dark, then I definetely suggest you buy this. This game answers some questions that were unawnsered in time and dark so definetely get this

If you liked the premise of Blue Rescue team, I think buying explorers of sky wouldn't be too bad of an idea. I really enjoyed it, it was an improvement from Blue and Red rescue team, and had a much better plot. I would say buy it but thats just me lol. I loved the rescue team games. Get some other opinions before you go either way.

It really depends on which pokemon you get.Find the best partner pokemon that can counter your weaknesses.Good examples would be piplup/pikachu or chimchar/Turtwig.

What about Mudkip and Charmander? In Blue I used Bulbasaur and Cyndaquil and was able to go to the groudon dungeon easily.

I highly recommend getting a grass type. The access to absorb/giga drain/other hp recovering attacks is huge. Treeko and Totodile/Torchic has done well for me in the past.

I don't know if there are online alternatives, but in the games' respective Prima guides, there was a chart that told what responses to what questions gave you what points. If followed exactly, you starter was easily able to be chosen. And as for starters and partners, I don't have anything to recommend. I've only ever used Charmander/Chimchar and Pikachu.

EDIT: Here's a guide for that purpose I found rather quickly for Explorers of Sky.

I changed my starter to Mudkip and my partner is Charmander. My 2 favorite Pokemon.

^ im riolu on mine. its ok. beat groudon easy which he is a hard boss if you have anything that is weak to him. i like your combo though.

During the Groudon fight I don't think Charmander will take it too hard. I'll just put his tactic to avoid the first hit which I used when he was low on HP during Mt.Bristle in the fight with Drowzee. I'm gonna have Water Gun soon and I saw a wondermail code for surf so that should be interesting.

I chose Riolu and he's pretty beast. But I would reccomend partnering or maybe being Pikachu or some electric type because Discharge is SOOOO good, especally for bosses and monster houses.

Ugh......Don't even mention Monster Houses >:| GRRRR! I am a Riolu on mine, and it is very good. I use Force Palm all the time, and I linked it with Endure. It is a very good move combo. I just beat Manectric, and I am in the Quicksand Desert with my partner Pikachu. He does nothing most of the time but use Growl......Dissapointing. Sometimes he comes throught for me, but otherwise.... :p The Groudon Fight was pretty easy with Force Palm, and Pikachu used Thunderbolt all the time :D

^ you can set what moves they can and cant use. just go to ummm, without going onto the game team, then go to him and go to moves and then uncheck growl or what ever. i always make my partner take out all the enemies in the room. if he startes getting in trouble i just tell him to run away. it works so well.

I was Riolu and picked Pikachu as my partner. Riolu is strong, and Pikachu has attacks that hit multiple opponents.
