Is PokeBeach Dying?

Unique visitor = one computer. If the same computer visits the site 100 times a month, it's only counted as one visitor, not 100 (THAT would be "visitors"). Thus a "unique" visitor.

Ah. So I guess I was sort of right. The program would just check the IP address of the computer i'm guessing. Then again, I myself have visited Pokebeach in probably over 30 different computers.
EDIT: Nice to finally talk to you, WPM.

And there's also several people who share the same computer. So it kind of cancels out.

No, as people have said, it's the time of year in between the japanese release and the american release when people are settled down, but make no mistake, there are still lots of threads in the 5th generation sub-forum being created, lots of members joining, when the american release hits, be sure it wont be 4 people online with tumbleweed rolling past. And it'll sure to go up as soon as the 3rd game and possible remakes come into the works.

Also, considering the number if introductions our official welcomer has seen, I really think activity can only be going up, despite the January "lull" in activity. There are some threads where I would appreciate activity but most of us are in no place to complain with us being a very large site.

There's not a big tournament for a while and there's not much major news.
Those two things control activity on Pokémon websites.

Here in England, all the people in the age rane of 10/11-12/13 are all studying for entrances exams. And then naturally, people move on in life.

What an irony - I have been on this forum for a year now and I find it complete chaos - so many members, subforums, forums, threads... I comment somehting and tomorrow there are 30 pages of new posts, so I'm lost completely here. I don't see beach getting abandoned really ;)

What about the TCG activities section? There are like 5 or 6 Redshark tournaments plus Skype activity going on as we speak. As for news...what about the B/W TCG set releases coming out? They're the first Gen 5 TCG cards so surely they'll get some big hype.

He means like POP stuff, like States and such, things in IRL with prizes, and the Black and White expansion is pretty bad, so it isn't worth discussing.

I imagine once english B&W VG and TCG releases happen things will pick up more. Right now we're at a more normal activity level.

I agree completely with SR...expect huge pickup in activity in about a month or so. Things might get crazy when BW is released.

I've noticed that too. I've been gone for a while because of school. Let's remember that it's the middle of the school year. Though I think we will be booming when Black and White are out.

Oh yeah...we're going downhill. We're closing up shop in a few days. There has been zero activity and new ideas on the site so...yup. Good-bye people.

Things'll be very active again soon. We're in an information lull point, and there are downtimes like this every year, usually at this time. People are busy with school and tests, and other things that take higher priority.

We'll be getting some Pokemon Movie news in about 6 days going by the countdown on the JP movie site, and from there we'll have English BW, TCG, etc. Usually when there is more on site news, the forums blooms with more activity, and until BW is out in english you won't see much in the way of VG discussion and the likes. Just be patient :)

This is ridiculous. Pokebeach is one of (if not the) most popular Pokemon news and Forums. The only reason it seems as if they're dying is because half of the Pokebeach population is at class during the day. Need I remind you how much postage occured in the summer?

Alright, this thread has done its job. To prevent further repeats of what's already been said...
