Is Pro Boxing Really Dead?

I know I've heard the arguments about MMA vs. Pro Boxing and alot of people believe Boxing is dead due to the success of MMA and the UFC. What are your guys' take on it?

Thing is Pro Boxing has had a rich history (Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Oscar de Le Hoya, Sugar Ray Leonard, etc.) compared to MMA which is current and recent (Brock Lesnar, Chuck Lidell, Ken Shamrock, etc.). Personally I think it's sad that boxing is dying as a sport and there's not enough people who appreciate it anymore.

You are right, Boxing is turning into a dead sport. I certainly appreciate it and I'm currently undefeated in my ammeter Boxing career, and I think the only reason why I'm far is because people would rather do MMA because of it's much quicker and more dangerous hits and grapples. I'm even thinking of quitting it soon for football, though, sorry boxing fans... Whether you like it or not, soon it's going to be dead. The only thing people pay attention to the sport is Manny Pacquiao.

^Yyyuup. That's a fact.
I pay attention to boxing, but now it's all about Maywether and Pacquiao, and that's really it. I wish there were more people who appreciated pro boxing, like there were in the 70's and 80's (at least). I hope it makes a comeback. Maybe a new Rocky will help (it actually might).

With the way the "Tapout" and MMA craze is going I doubt it. Oscar de Le Hoya was a good boxer but his loss against Pacquiao proved that he was past his prime and that he needed to hang up the gloves.

Sadly we live in a society where teenagers and young adults appreciate Mixed Martial Arts more than they do with Pro Boxing, infact MMA is sort of an evolution of boxing but the way I see it, it's in a bad way because to me it's just a few punches and kicks until they go for the wrestling grapples in order to win by submission.

I don't see any forms of Tae Kwon Do and other famous martial arts being performed cause it looks more like a street fight instead of using talent and skill to win. The movies that did inspire MMA mostly was Bloodsport and a few others with Jean Claude Van Damme.
