Is the cartoon even any good any more?

The Pokemon series used to be great because of what it was, a lone kid going on adventures into a brand new land and making friends along the way. What 8 year old wouldn't want to do that?
The new series just rotates around Ash fighting trainers, doing some crap nobody cares about, always being the best, and as always beating Team Rocket. The only redeeming part about the new series was J and her insane need to kill stuff for Pokemon, shame she wasn't around to long.

All the people making the series have to do is give Pokemon a darker tone, make Ash the Ash from yesteryear, bring back Muk, J didn't die (she's to hot to), and create story line that doesn't revolve around legendaries.

...What? Two seasons of fillers? In Sinnoh?

The D/P seasons have way less fillers than EVER before. There were, what, 5-10 fillers in the first D/P season? As opposed to 15-20ish fillers in every other season except the first one (which moved WAY too quickly)?
Also, D/P fillers are at least entertaining (*points at evil Togepi-episode etc*), which can't be said about most earlier fillers.

No. No. No. No.
A filler episode is when nothing of importance happens throughout the episode, leaving everything where it was at the beginning of said episode. There's barely ANY such episodes in the D/P seasons. Many episodes focuses on character and/or plot development that have nothing to do with Ash's team or battles, and they are NOT fillers.

Please, learn definitions. Or, at least, learn that the series isn't only about Ash...
 
Heh, "Where no Togepi has gone before" was awesomely lulz. Especially because "ZOMG ANGRY RAYQUAZA!"

Also, if you look closely at Jessie's bed in that episode, you can see a cuddly Arbok on top of it. <3

What? Really? Have you even been watching the newer episodes? Ash has lost many important battles throughout the Sinnoh adventure. He even had to train for, what, ten episodes before managing to defeat Fantina...
 
And Ash vs Palmer, he didn't win there either.

Of course, didn't he do brilliantly against Paul in his 6v6 battle? Oh wait, he got slaughtered.
 
The battle against Paul (ie Ursaring just wrecking everything) is one of the best things I've seen throughout the history of the Pokemon anime, and it gives me a small twinge of hope that maybe, just maybe, there is hope for future seasons...

...granted, it's a very small twinge...
 
The battle between Ash and Paul was one of the best things I have seen as well in the anime. Though I think that things are hopefully going to pick up during the Sinnoh League and into the Isshu Region.
 
I just feel like de only time thet honestly put true effort into plot and such is when they make the movies :l
im just hopin that the new season of pokemon try to put a little more effort into the shows like they did with D/P.
 
I don't see how Misty is better than Hikari but wtv... The first series was funnier but I actually think the gym battles/other major battles in DP are better... and I still watch the anime but it's just for fun... Gible is kinda funny... I also only see the Japanese dub since it's much better than the pathetic american dub...
