Is there alien life?

Do you believe in alien life?

@Pokequaza

Because my Astronomy teacher said so.

If you think about it, since there are many animals who have evolved to be like this through many many evolutionary branches that are unrelated to each other (e.g. dinosaur and mouse), then what is to say that this won't be the case on other planets?

(EDIT: 500th Post :D)

Thinking that UFO's have visited Earth once is, in my opinion, like believing in fairy tales. I'm not even going to bother explaining why.
Please do. I'm interested in your reasons.
I do have a question for you; Why would you believe so? What evidence do you have?

Also people, these extraterrestrial organisms, if we ever will encounter them, are not green, standing on two legs with large heads and big eyes.
How do you know for sure? Have you seen one?
Yes I have, he was yesterday in my garden, he came along after having visited my uncle in Nepal.

You forgot one thing. At the time when mice and dinosaurs were the same species they already had 2 eyes and a mouth.

Evidence that they have come? Well, countless stories of UFO sightings and abductions. For example a woman and her daughter both woke up one morning with identical scars they did not have before they went to bed and they had the same "dream" of being scared of something and hiding in a closet during the night. It's possible that during the night extraterrestrials came, took them, did some experiments to study humans, and modified their memories. I know it all sounds like complete fiction but there are so many similar sightings, encounters and experiences it seems as if aliens have visited the planet and are in fact studying humans. There's also the fact that the government seems to care a lot for UFO sightings if they're not real as you say. These are just a few examples, and if you actually really look stuff up before just deciding to be skeptical you could be surprised. There have also been signs to suggest aliens have visited past human civilizations.

Again, I asked for some evidence. Could you provide me at least with some resource then?

Yes, I have looked stuff up, to be honest quite alot. Yet I haven't encountered any good evidence.

And why should two the same scars be evidence of UFO's visiting Earth? If the story is indeed true, which I highly doubt, then it could just have been humans too.

Let's be honest here, do either of us plan on changing our opinions any time soon? I didn't think so. I've debated with you on just about every one of these threads, so we might as well just save it and believe what we want.

One of the best arguments against aliens visiting Earth, UFO sightings, etc. etc. in my opinion is provided by Phil Plait. Basically, there are thousands upon thousands of amateur astronomers, looking at the sky whenever they can. They discover some astroids before NASA does, even. Yet there has never, to my or his knowledge, been a serious amateur astronomer who has ever seen a UFO.

The thing is, the sky is a very diverse and weird place, if you're not used to looking at it, you might be tricked into thinking it's a UFO. Things like planes, balloons, the ISS (which is very visible by night and moves by very quickly), meteoroids and even planets like Venus (very bright, sometimes seems to move erratically because of the atmosphere) are all misinterpreted as UFOs very often.

About abduction stories... why is it always the crazy people who get abducted?

This is news to me.

Most abduction stories I heard of came from conspiracy theorists, alt-medders and the likes, the others just come from your average low-education farmer (which are usually just sightings, lights appearing, etc., not necessarily abductions).

The odds of there actually being aliens here are beyond small. You'd need intelligent life on other planets, it would have to be pretty closeby, have mastered long-distance spaceflight, be able to find this planet, be able to find out that there is intelligent life on this planet (this is barely noticeable), and then actually decide to come here. And what do they do when they come here? Steal some cows, probe some farmers, fly around a bit and leave? Seriously?

I am going to play devil's advocate. The aliens don't just abduct the crazy ones. The smart rational ones keep their mouth shut, unless they have solid proof.

There probably is alien life out there, but no one knows EXACTLY where. I doubt that aliens have visited our planet before, but who knows? But lets look at how the aliens could live.
They would probably need fire, because if they didnt have that, then there would be (probably) no electronics (you need a spark for that), they will have no warmth when the sun(s) go down, and no light other than suns or moons or stars. And you need some Oxygen to get fire, so alien life will probably need to have Oxygen in the atmosphere.

Exactly. Though ones our technology does improve and we get better telescopes then there might be a possibility to find some distant planets that might be habitable for life to live.

I saw this and thought of you guys.

There's definitely life out there. Probably on Europa or Titian, As Yakob just noted. Or, for all we know, the universe is like Spore, with every few systems having their own species there.

I think there might be microbes in Europa under the water. Or Phytoplankton-like organisms living under the ice. Titan might have possible life existing.

alien life does exist. i have done research and everything. though it may be true that scientists say there is not, i believe there are other galzays out there and aliens too.

(you know to them we're aliens)

Really?

What kind of research have you done and what are the results? I think you wouldn't mind to post them here, would you?

I agree with you that alien life does exist. But I would like to know what kind of research you have done to prove this correct. I'm just curious. I do some research around the internet and read books upon this. I just would like to know what kind of research you do to prove this correct.
