GSC Is this a fake, bootlegged Crystal Version?

Mods, please tell me if I'm posting this in the right place or not. It seemed the best place to put this.

A few years back, I was at the Utah State Fair. I spotted a bootleg Pokemon Crystal Version in a GameBoy Advance cartridge. I ended up buying it for $4, which was a great price considering there are multiple collectors of these bootleg games all over the place.
As soon as I got back to my grandparents' house, the first thing I did was put the cartridge into my DS and turn the power on. The title screen showed a Suicune and had the text "Pokemon Crystal Shards". As soon as you enter the game, you can tell that it's, for the most part, a messed up remake of Pokemon Gold and/or Silver version. Here's a picture of the exact cartridge:

I have heard of a ton of bootlegged video games, and have owned some in the past (which I end up losing :) ), put I have never seen anything like this game.
Another thing important to mention is that half of the game appears to be in Spanish or some language like that (Pretty much Spanish Engrish). When you fight, the sprites are backwards, and rotate when you attack.Instead of "use" for the attack, it says "uso" which I am assuming is Spanish for the time being. (ex. Cyndaquil uso tackle)

Has anyone else seen this game? It's really strange, and has to be one of the weirdest things that I've ever seen relating to Pokemon.

EDIT: Mods, if I clarify this in my trade thread as FAKE, can I trade it to collectors of this sort of game?
EDIT 2: Footage Uploaded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sk8smRuI6yg&feature=channel_video_title

More video Footage coming later tonight or tomorrow!!!

@Guilty Spark

It's not Crystal version, that's the thing. It's not even anything like the Crystal Shards game it claims to be.

I thought crystal was only for game boy color? Strange.

It is..as the post says the game is a hacked fake bootleg. NOT a REAL game

@Guilty Spark

That's what this thread is about. There are lots of fake games out there that there are lots of multiple copies of, but I've only seen this one copy of this fake game.

RE: Fake bootlegged Crystal Version?

You'd think with a bootleg game they would at least try to get the system correct. But this...this is highly unusual. I've seen some bootleg cartridges, but never one where even the system was incorrect.
$4 is a pretty cheap find, but the thing is, was it really worth the $4 to you?

RE: Fake bootlegged Crystal Version?

I've never actually seen one, but I've played ROMs of them, never this one, but others. (Quartz) They're usually just changed versions of already made games. They're kind of fun because it's a new twist on a game you've already played. Some of them though are glitched up though, and they don't play well.

@DNA

It is definitely worth the $4 I paid for it. There are lots of collectors of these bootleg games, and it's something cool to show people. Also, the actual game is hilarious because it is poorly translated. Once I get my DS back (should be today or tomorrow according to my brother) I will put footage of the game on here.

RE: Fake bootlegged Crystal Version?

Sweet, looking forward to the footage!

Oh, and do bootleg games mess up your system? I wanted to get one, since I've been reading "scary stories" about them lately.

@ZoruaSnivyLover

They don't. Some have problems saving though (such as mine). My friend beat mine, though, but he had his DS on the whole time he played the game. I seriously couldn't beat it, though. The Wild Pokemon in this particular one are too random (Lv.1 Charizard?).

Just got my DS back, will upload footage later tonight (my mom's taking pictures at the moment).

RE: Fake bootlegged Crystal Version?

Ooh! Ready to see the footage!

Now to convince my mom I NEED a Bootleg game...

RE: Fake bootlegged Crystal Version?

I've actually seen this cartridge on eBay, but I'm soo geeky I knew instantly it was fake. But i'm looking forward to the footage.

RE: Fake bootlegged Crystal Version?

Here's the footage. Sorry for the bad quality, I was using an old camera.

That grammar is so terrible it's funny. That was funny. I lov it! Thanks!

RE: Fake bootlegged Crystal Version?

I wanna know what that thing is you put in the Key Items Pocket. Buscapelia? Is that what it was?

RE: Fake bootlegged Crystal Version?

Yes, it was called Buscapelia ^^

I had a problem uploading part 2, but I'm going to try again later today. :)

RE: Fake bootlegged Crystal Version?

I actually saw something like this at my local Gamestop with a copy of Emerald. My buddy who worked their looked at it and asked me to look at it and tell me if there was something weird about it. I took a look and almost died laughing. We even plugged it into a DS and a Gameboy Advance and the thing didn't work.
