IF it is based on new york then i must say "i knew it". i thought that when i first saw hiun city because since i live in new york i saw many similarities with huin city and lower manhattan (as us new yorkers call it The City). i'm not sure where the other places are based on though. i said IF, so if it's not true don't come yelling at me.

and like what Mechanos7 said why is it every time something pops up it's fake?? why can't something actually be real. and when someone believes something might be real they are gullible? and when it's confirmed real then what? what are you trying to accomplish by saying everything is fake? sorry if this sounded mean and i know everything isn't always real but i'm just curious. =/

japan has just as many starbucks and mcdonalds as america does :) despite folks believing the myth that the japanese are so much more pure and healthy than americans. ;)

as for those saying the magazine is fake, it was listed on real japanese online stores (they since replaced it with the actual cover as this is just a flyer/insert), and japanese online stores are not sources of fake and photoshopped materials :p also torchic having a question mark is probably something about getting hoenn starters in BW :)

the magazine comes out friday anyway, and the game in less than two weeks, so let's just be excited!

Well to me, the question mark could state that its a speculation of the magazine's, So it COULD be confirmed, and I want it to be, but then again, it may not be.

Is that Sky arrow bridge resemble the brooklyn bridge or what!
And is the town where that black gym leader, is that based on queens or brooklyn, whatever that have a lot of afrtician americans?

I think you ment FAT PEOPLE instead of MCDONALD :p
.......

BTW why are people still stating that this is fake; it's official already so no point of trying to fight over it being fake or not ...

Was there any doubt that it was anything else beside NYC?

1) New Eagle pokemon (american flag color)
2) Football player (THE SPORT which america LOVES)
3) Victiny + liberty ticket (***Hint*** statue of "liberty")
4) Various birdges connected to the islands just like New York
5) the evolution of the look out pokemon (forgot the name) looks like something to do with the ameriandians (very similar look)
6) Busy city and many business people walking around (as seen on many videos)
... that's all that I can just throw down from my head at the moment ... am sure more will pop up as more informations are revealed.

Don't say fat people it's not nice, also
1) Eagle yeah it's american and the headdress is native american i'll give you that
2) Football player they might be adding people from different countries all over
3) Liberty does not specifically associate with America
4) The sky arrow bridge looks more like another bridge i saw from a place in asia
5) Minezumi's evo has nothing to do with america
6) Oh yeah America's the only busy city(Sarcasm)

Hey hey guys.
Listen
This is one of the things the guy with the text dump said.

Not saying everything he said was true but. This was revealed a few hours after he said it.
Just something to think about I suppose.

Yeah, but @Playerking95, it adds up and makes much more sense then the other theories do. There's no evidence that could disprove this theory other than "well, what if they DIDN'T have to do with America?"

Okay. From what I've heard, it's not fake, but it's an unofficial magazine and the article is only a collection of speculation that doesn't give any set answer.

Also...
WHY SHOULD WE CARE?
Why can't Isshu just be Isshu? Who cares if it's based on New York or some place in China or a valley in the middle of Africa? What if it's a brand new region not inspired by any existing area? It's not like they HAVE to stick to the pattern of basing the regions on real-life locations, just as you're all speculating that they're straying from the pattern of basing regions on parts of Japan.

That is all.

Well I don't really care about it, but I really hate how all is saying "It can only be NY, why doubt about it?", when many have proofs that its maybe based on other places. Its like you're all like "Omg, now that Isshu is based on NY, even without an official confirmation, us New Yorker is better than you! Ha!" ... or maybe thats just how I see people who was saying it XD

Also I don't believe this magazine is 100% official... XD

AND I SAID SO!! HA!

Had to say that.. *sigh.. it was obvious after all..

Why are there so many people saying right now ''Oh I always knew it was based on NY'' while I'm sure there were only a couple of members actually supporting the idea the last weeks/months.. Ah well, whatever.

The magazine has interviews with game freak about black and white, and has codes for kanto starters in the dream world, I'm pretty sure its official, and even if its unofficial, they have some rather legit information.

The question mark is probably simply making people look for the answer out of curiosity, and not just stating it.

Its not terribly important if it is elsewhere, however it would finally end all debate on the subject; some debates can go on for too long.

Because if we get official confirmation, the stupid debate can end once and for all :p

I can see your point, though. Isshu is Isshu. The previous four regions were never "Japan" to me, they were their own respective worlds.

I think they might have gotten inspiration from NYC like rivers and black ppl. But classifying them to certain parts in the game is a bit far...
