That is one fat Ivysaur, having double the retreat cost of a Venusaur.. Cool artwork though!
It is said that Genesect is an ancient Pokemon found and modified by Team Plasma, and a lot of people believe that Pokemon to be Kabutops. Maybe that's the reference?
After being absent in TCG for a couple of years, I am beyond stoked that the (non-ex) Bulbasaur line is back! I was disappointed to say the least when my favorite original starter didn't make it to XY Evolutions, but in hindsight I'm glad Bulbasaur wasn't part of that crappy expansion.
This new Ivysaur has cool art/illustration and has a good distracting 2nd attack (hopefully aided by a Venusaur in play) but I'm a bit worried by the 100HP. It means Ivysaur can't be summoned via Level Ball, although there is Heavy Ball - works for Venusaur, too.
Side-note: I hope SM Shining Legends will get 2 theme decks, please let one of them involve the Bulbasaur line!!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEAAAASE!!
I know this isn't the deck garage but Wish Baton would be better for this deck then Band and the new Ribombee outclasses Oricorio, and lastly Super rod will probably rotate.Pokemon - 19
- Shining Genesect - Does anyone found Venusaur's perfect partner? This is the perfect one! This is basically Grass version of GEN Flareon EX. I made up a partial deck list for this. Plus, the ability matches the card itself.4 Geodudes:
3 Shining Genesect (If it is allowed to run multiple copies of Shining Pokémon)
2-1-2 Venusaur
4-2/2 Lurantis/Lurantis-GX
2 Tapu Lele GX
1 Pink Oricorio
Stadium - 3
3 Aether Park
Energy - 8
8 Grass Energy
Supporters - 13
4 Sycamore
4 N
1 Brigette
2 Guzma
1 Acerola
1 Center Lady
Items - 17
2 Rare Candy
4 Ultra Ball
2 Rescue Strecther
2 Field Blower
3 Choice Band
1 Switch (just in case)
1 Super Rod
1 Timer Ball
1 Revitalizer
Total: 60

Back In the day, we could only have 1 shiny in our decks. I don't see anything on the card that says 1 shining like neo 4 had so maybe there won't be a limit of 1.Pokemon - 19

Agreed. Same here. I always liked the Bulbasaur line best back in the days, and was annoyed that it always came last after Charizard and Blastoise. The Evolutions set (although I liked the 'back to the beginning' thing) was no exception with of course a Charizard and Blastoise Elite Trainer Box.. Sigh. Don't get your hopes up

It won't swing for half the cost, it would be a grass and a DCE. But Venusaur and Genesect could be an interesting combo.Of course the Ivysaur combos with Venusaur and Shining Celebi, allowing it to swing for half the cost.

XY Evolutions was just sad... Notalgia aside, barely any of the Pokémon could compete in the current metagame. It was quite sad to see that the old original badass Pokémon cards have been reduced to downright unusable. None of them were fast enough for the EX-oriented metagame, with the exception of Pidgeot-EX and Dragonite-EX (lol, only EXs). Original fan favorites Gyarados and Charizard? Blah. Dugtrio and Hitmonchan? Also blah. Chansey? Blobby blah. Beedrill? Bee blah. I am sooooo glad my favorite Kanto starter dodged that bullet!
Well we dont know that for sure, but BKT and BKP are rumoured to also be rotating. We will find out for sure on the 21st of this month.Super Rod's not rotating.
They announced rotation. Its BKT on, which was pretty obvious.Well we dont know that for sure, but BKT and BKP are rumoured to also be rotating. We will find out for sure on the 21st of this month.
