News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

After being absent in TCG for a couple of years, I am beyond stoked that the (non-ex) Bulbasaur line is back! I was disappointed to say the least when my favorite original starter didn't make it to XY Evolutions, but in hindsight I'm glad Bulbasaur wasn't part of that crappy expansion.
This new Ivysaur has cool art/illustration and has a good distracting 2nd attack (hopefully aided by a Venusaur in play) but I'm a bit worried by the 100HP. It means Ivysaur can't be summoned via Level Ball, although there is Heavy Ball - works for Venusaur, too.
Side-note: I hope SM Shining Legends will get 2 theme decks, please let one of them involve the Bulbasaur line!!

Will be updating my Vikavolt/Bulu-GX deck with Venusaur despite being "clunky" for having 2 stage-2 lines:

I love that they're teasing the 'Kabutops is Genesect' theory with these artwork choices.

Agreed. Same here. I always liked the Bulbasaur line best back in the days, and was annoyed that it always came last after Charizard and Blastoise. The Evolutions set (although I liked the 'back to the beginning' thing) was no exception with of course a Charizard and Blastoise Elite Trainer Box.. Sigh. Don't get your hopes up
I know this isn't the deck garage but Wish Baton would be better for this deck then Band and the new Ribombee outclasses Oricorio, and lastly Super rod will probably rotate.
Back In the day, we could only have 1 shiny in our decks. I don't see anything on the card that says 1 shining like neo 4 had so maybe there won't be a limit of 1.

XY Evolutions was just sad... Notalgia aside, barely any of the Pokémon could compete in the current metagame. It was quite sad to see that the old original badass Pokémon cards have been reduced to downright unusable. None of them were fast enough for the EX-oriented metagame, with the exception of Pidgeot-EX and Dragonite-EX (lol, only EXs). Original fan favorites Gyarados and Charizard? Blah. Dugtrio and Hitmonchan? Also blah. Chansey? Blobby blah. Beedrill? Bee blah. I am sooooo glad my favorite Kanto starter dodged that bullet!
I'd jump for joy if SM Shining Legends had a theme deck or two! One of them being half-Grass type! Even it's only the Bulbasaur line 2-2-1! Even if there'd be no other useful Grass Pokémon! Please!!
Side-note, I expected more from Burning Shadows' Charizard-GX. The same boring Wing Attack, and the second attack that's powerful "on paper" but nobody has the time to setup.
Fingers crossed for a non-GX promo eventually this SM era! Well, not too soon but hopefully some time between the next few upcoming sets!
I hope they continue the trend of making evolving stage 1 cards fatter, one of the most frustrating things about playing stage 2 decks is getting donked. I think that stage 1s should be around the HP level of big basics, 100-130 while stage 2s should be around the HP of GX basics, 170-190.

Anyway I do not play the TCG myself, I only collect the cards, so in that sense it was okay to me with some gems like that Dragonite FA (looks gorgeous). Can't wait for the Venusaur GX from this set! It can only be better than those Venusaur EX cards, as far as art work goes.

Well we dont know that for sure, but BKT and BKP are rumoured to also be rotating. We will find out for sure on the 21st of this month.
