Japan's XY10 Set: 'Awakening of Psychic Kings,' Alakazam!

Won't lie... I'm tempted to plan a Delphox BREAK deck once these cards get localized.

Poor delphox wasn't on the SR FA like Chesnaught and Greninja.

Also, 4 Bronzong BREAK with PF Bronzong and Float Stones might be a good way to snipe the bench. It's a good way to snipe multiple Joltik or Pumpkaboo and even Shaymin and the new Carbinks. In the right combos it could be very good.

There is a lot about this set I dislike tbh, N aside (I accept it even if I don't have to like it). Aerodactyl and carbink seem like great cards, until you realise they are nearly useless. Trying to fish an aurodactyl off the bottom seven cards of your library seems like the dumbest mechanic for what would otherwise be a great one of tech to counter certain decks. And Carbink as well looks awesome until you find out that it's basic pokemons BASIC energy. If it was an all purpose energy denial counter then it would be such a great tech, but as it doesn't save your specials it's mostly useless as that's where most the energy hate targets.

I really hate how they put so much space into these useless fossil cards, why not make it from the top seven of your deck? Then you could maybe play aerodactyl/gallade/puzzle of time/max revive/compressor type things. That could be a deck there. But nah, they had to go make it all useless. And what is with putting a break on ommastar. It's so convoluted to get out for a mediocre card. Just stupid.

M Alakazam + Bats will be a thing. That deck is crazy. Evolve alakazam (2 counters), crobat (2+3=5) attack 10+150 + 50 already from bats and alakazams ability = 210 (230 with a golbat damage + 240 with FFB) damage for 1 energy under dimension valley. Arceus save us. Then devolution spray to do it all again next turn.

Also maybe Lugia break (primary attacker), assault vest, metal links bronzong (acceleration) & bronzong break (back up attack). Kinda clunky maybe. I never played much metal, but seems like it could hit for the big numbers kinda easy. Especially with max elixir.

The decks I see coming out of this set are:

-Zygarde/Regirock/Carbink
-Alakazam/Bats
-Jolteon/Glaceon attack lock
-Fossil shenanigans

I also think Diancie-EX with Assault Vest would be pretty funny; tank 70 damage from your opponent. Against a Darkness deck, you could still block a good amount of damage due to the ability and Resistance.

I don't get why they make powerful fossil pokemon and then make them so hard to get into play.

So if you take a knock out a mega with umbreon ex, do you take 4 prizes? Seems a little overpowered.

I love how the set symbols for BREAKPoint and this are based off the set mascot. I hope they keep doing that.

I think Alakazam EX and M Alakazam EX would be best with Abosl (ROS). With it's ability, you can net 210 damage if you evolve into M Alakazam EX, play Absol, and attack with Zen Force.

I'm guessing they couldn't use "Spoon Bending" for legal reasons? Kinesis will do.
Actually, スプーンまげ is the Japanese name of the move Kinesis in the video games.

Though I agree that Uri Geller being beyond human reason has had a terrible effect on the game.

I hope he someday loses his legal Battle.

Maybe he will play one of the games one day and see how fun they are...and embrace the compliment of having a Pokémon named after him (which in no way implies that he is evil, etc.). Although I guess he's almost 70 by now...

It's my understanding that Game Freak has no legal reason not to print Kadabra cards (hence why it is still available in the games and is still mentioned by name in Mysterious Treasures despite not getting a card) it is simply not doing it out of "good faith".
