Why isn't Thi card popular? It can be stored on bench. Use switch or retreat and use doom desire and repeat the process!
 
Doom Desire is easily countered against Pokemon with a free retreat, Warp Energy, Switch, Warp Point, and Poke Turn.
 
Jirachi LA? Storing it on bench can get it OHKO'd by Garchomp C X, but that isn't the problem. It's more the fact that it tends to get OHKO'd pretty easily (remember, after Doom Desire, it's your opponent's turn - no time for Warp Point). Even if it doesn't, you won't have energy on really anything unless you want to take another turn or two to power it up, at which point your active will have been KO'd, and Jirachi will almost definitely have gotten the 2HKO after Doom Desire that time. And after all this, your opponent's put energy on his Pokémon, while you've been putting it on the 2 now-KO'd-cards.
 
nope...retreat or using cards to get it onto the bench make all effects go away,includin DD...
 
No one uses Doom Desire on this thing. It's One Desire or nothing. Using DD is a total waste of energy.
As for why people don't use it, Jirachi RR far surpasses it as a tech, having a nifty Poke-Power, the ability to copy supporters, and free retreat, at the loss of only 10 HP from its LA counterpart.
 
Doom Desire is just too easy to play around. One desire is the best attack, but it fails against disruption decks. Back when Amulet coin was legal, I used it with Jirachi to nab the card I just picked and another card for my turn. But without Amulet coin, it limits this Jirachi even more so.
 
Also Absol G does the same thing. It has a good Power on the X, and you don't lose the energy.
 
Almost all decks play Warp Point now, and thoe that don't have either cheap or free retreat. DD is just to easy to work around.
 
The first attack is, however, slightly useful in setting up. Unfortunately for this Jirachi, the one from RR is alot better for that and has a great Pokepower, which is just like the LA's attack.
 
I remember my old Jirachi LA deck D:

4 Jirachi
3-3 Wigglytuff GE (put both active to sleep)
2-2 Xatu SW (took the sleep condition to the already sleeping defending pokemon.)
2-2 Heatran lv.X (got back 2 energies when Jirachi discarded them.)
addtion for now: 1-1-1 Vileplume UD

That would be so awesome if I could play that now. xD
