^He is not a Ugandan warlord. He is an African war lord. His operations started in the south and have moved all around Africa since then. Why people think that this is a Ugandan problem is beyond me.

^LOL

But no. I see your point of view. We don't. The government does. The whole point is just to show the government what we want. And one actually /does/ show the government what we want to do simply by 'liking a status.' and other small things like petitions/letters.

EDIT: @Zenith Yes I can actually.

Uganda is just above Rwanda in Central Africa.

Well, I'm basing the legitimacy on if Oprah sponsors this. She hasn't yet, but if she does, I'll believe it. I know that sounds a little bias, but Oprah is always the person that does her research before randomly sponsoring a random program. You remember how upset she got a year ago when the book made by the drug addict that she sponsored was exaggerated. She'll make sure that doesn't happen.

@CMP: I can see where you are coming from. Honestly, when they brought up the kit, I was actually questioning this. I felt like it was just a scam to make money.

^You make a valid point. However Oprah won't be sponsoring invisible children most likely. After doing a bit of research myself I found out that the organization that people are blindly donating to, only gives 1/3 of their profits to directly help out the african people.

Quit it with those kind of posts. If you want to say something, say it.

Meme posts are the best because more people read them than text walls. It basically is saying something anyways.

^ I did it. After having 20+ FaceBook invites in a period of 2 hours I am completely fed up with hearing about him from people who are supposedly "raising awareness". Almost everyone who is going to know about it already does. We've come close enough to maximum awareness that letting people know about it only aggravates them.

I have to buy the kit as soon as possible!

This is probably one of the most moving things I have ever seen!

It's a shame that this wasn't such a big deal a few years ago, back when Kony wasn't in hiding and considered a threat.

I'm guessing the best thing we can do is spread the word! If everyone here on the beach knows about it then we can make a difference. What I suggest we do is at least change your banner to Kony 2012 like I have already done and attend Cloud the Night on April 20th (If possible) and I guess just continue to spread the word!

All I've heard about Invisible Children is that they're a group of con artists swindling money from unsuspecting people. Most of the money they take in goes to them, not to what they say it's going to. If you don't believe me, look it up yourselves.

Also, this thread is just ridiculous! Kony is evil, but if you really want to get a point across, get involved with real-life petitioning. Spamming social media just annoys people more than it actually gets things done (It may get people's attention for a time, but it doesn't actually do anything).

@Buizel, The best thing we can do is spread the word? Really? There is much better things for us to do at this point.

On second thought, I'm locking this. To be frank, this seems more prone to potential flaming and spam than any real discussion.
