Jumping Back In

So the last time I played Pokemon was when the first Diamond and Pearl set was just released. Since then, I'm sure most of my cards are obsolete in the current modified decks.

What I wanted to know was a cheap way to jump back into it. I wanted tins but I should probably just wait to get my hands on the new Mewtwo/Darkrai/Rayquaza tins. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Once the tins come out, there's actually a couple decks that become extremely cheap to make (if they're not already).

Eelektrik decks with either Rayquaza EX or Mewtwo EX are great "beginning" decks so to speak as it is a nice energy acceleration deck that functions from the Discard Pile with Eelektrik's Dynamotor Ability. Zekrom B/W comes in one theme deck and a part of an Eel line comes in a different one if you can still find them in stores. There's also a Tornadus/Thundurus/Landorus box where you get one of each and Thundurus is a pretty good addition to the deck.

Darkrai/Hydreigon is also pretty cheap to make once you get the Darkrai Tins. I would imagine Hydreigon would become the most expensive part of that deck and maybe one/two of the techs that you decide to play.

dmaster out.

Ninetails/Amoonguss is a cheap deck to make, and so are Emboar varients if you use the tin Emboar (Reshiram is cheap, but I've seen some lists with Entei-EX, which is probably around 15-20 dollars).
