RE: Junichi's Junkyard (OPEN) New experiments underway, come look and see!
Hey boracy,
I'm not really looking for helpers at the moment. I have some tips for you though.
1. Learn how to make things transparent. You can do this using a program like GIMP, PS, or really anything other than MS paint. This adds a whole different level of quality to your project.
2. For your TC's, crop the sprite to where it either; 1. Fits in the box or 2. Doesn't interfere with any other part of the TC (including other boxes). If there's a lot of empty space next to a box, it'd be cool to leave an arm grasping out of the box (maybe to rip out someone's heart, for example. lol X_x) One thing I see on yours, is that you let parts of pokemon cover up vital organs of the card, such as the name or the TRAINER CARD text. In my methods, this is a HUGE no-no.
3. When using paint, you'll notice that when you drag something white over something of another color, it will blend to that color. If you don't fill the white back in, it will generally tend to look sloppy. Filling white back in paint is another must for quality.
4. Try to pick a contrasting color for text in a project (use a color wheel if you have to. If you do, look for colors on the opposite side of the wheel compared to your color) On one of your cards, I saw you used a dark-blue with black. This makes the viewer really have to squint to read the text. Remember, you want the viewer to be pleased, not pained, to view your project.
I hope these tips can help you out. Remember, I've only been into graphic arts for only 2 years now and I'm still learning new things every day (well...almost every day).
