Hey, I think I might actually have a decent deck to play at a BR for once....

----------------------------------------------------
Pokemon
----------------------------------------------------
1 Rayquaza EX
1 Tornadus EX
1 Mewtwo EX
1 Raikou EX
2 Thundurus (EP)
4-3-1 Eelekrtoss (#38 NV Tynamo, Slurp Shakedown Eelektross)
2 Zekrom (BW)
1 Emolga (Drgn. Ex.)
----------------------------------------------------
T / S / S
----------------------------------------------------
2 N
3 Juniper
3 Bianca
1 Cheren
2 Reciever
3 Catcher
2 Level Ball
2 Ultra Ball
2 PlusPower
1 Skyarrow Bridge
2 Eviolite
2 Communication
2 Tool Scrapper
----------------------------------------------------
Energy
----------------------------------------------------
9 Electric
4 DCE
3 Fire
----------------------------------------------------

This is a current Eels build I use. In terms of strategy, there really isn't much to be said. A few wonder why I don't use Zekrom EX, and I find it to be the slowest charge-up, and once I do, the opponent is to a point to where it's useless. In truth, this Eels variant is just a build of most other common Eels decks in one (looking at RayEels, RaikouEels, and techs that go into them). One thing I always hated was having me Eel Catchered up and sitting there doing nothing (something that all Eel runners hate). By adding an Eelektross, I not only have an Extra attacker, but now the opponent might need to think a little more on Catchering up an Eel. Set up a DCE on one (preferably two, the usual amount I have out) and set up two Electric Energies to begin an onslaught of recycling the opponent's Pokemon back and forth and doing 60 damage each time. Other than that small "huh?" factor with Eelektross compared to other Eel decks, not much else needs to be said on how the deck runs, since it's a basic Eels w/ attackers and made out of what I could get my hands on.

In a format where you NEED your tech support to thrive, Eelektross is a bad idea. I think a 4th Eel would be better for speed and consistency. Cut the Communications for an Ultra Ball and a Level Ball, because they both do what Communication does but better. I think you should cut the Ray EX stuff because its pointless. Add another Raikou, a Zekrom EX, and 2 Max Potion and at least 2 switch by cutting the Thundurus because, though it seems great, you would rather have a heavy attack turn 2 or 3 then a light attacker T2. Thundurus is too easy to KO too.

That might also work.

I find that with Ultra Ball, I never have something I don't need in my hand. Nonetheless, I might try it, but I still remain skeptical.

Yes, because I should totally cut my line of hope against DarkDreigon from the deck. Don't think so.

For one, I have no way of obtaining another Raikou EX for BR (again, I have to build this out of what I have). And I've tried Zekrom EX. it is way too slow to start attacking. Switches would be nice, but I intend to keep Thundurus. At least one. If I don't start with Emolga, Thundurus is a great start for fishing out energy.

But Max Potion.... I can't say I haven't considered them.

Zekrom EX helps your Hydreigon matchup a ton. you OHKO their Hydreigons. It also OHKOs Garchomps.
You play 1 Emolga. You will barely ever start with it.

For Rayquaza, you need to go all in or all out. It just won't really work as a tech. I would try 3 Raikou EX, 2 Mewtwo EX, 2 Zekrom, and 1 Zekrom EX as your attackers. IMO, you have too many one-ofs, meaning it is pretty unlikely you will have the right one when you need it.

Okay, let's go over a brief list of examples of what I CAN'T get a hold of in time:

- Another Mewtwo (seriously, these things are still pricey)
- Another Raikou (nobody in my area has any to trade, and again, price is of concern)
- Another Tornadus EX (same as Raikou)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
And about that Emolga. Though Zekrom EX is a bit slow, I was thinking about it over Emolga, since if I manage to somehow get it charged up in time, there is a sliver of hope.

I was going to go all out and change a lot of things up, but you mentioned you couldn't get some cards so..

Pokemon

-1 Eeelektross
+1 Eelektrik

- As far as Eelektross being a bad idea, I'm not sure since I haven't tried it. But I also suggest you drop it for the 4th Eelektrik to add consistency and speed. Lately, I've been getting 2 Eels prized, and I'll only have 2 work with. Other times, I end up having to discard one of them because I NEED a new hand, so the 4th really comes in handy.

-1 Emolga

Same as above. You aren't very likely to start with it if you just run one of them. It wall also take up valuable bench space since you need at least 2 Eels, and 2 attackers getting ready to hit. It's also a free prize!

+1 Zekrom EX

As Roguechomp said, this REALLY helps you Hydreigon/Darkrai matchups. This is probably the only Pokemon that can be a "1 of" in this deck. (Besides Rayquaza EX) You also have to keep in mind that there is a right time to put it down; you need a DCE, a Catcher, a Skyarrow Bridge or a Switch, and 2 Eels on the bench. I honestly think this is really a "clutch" card that can change the game.

T/S/S

-2 Pokemon Communication

Honestly, Ultra Ball and Level Ball do a better job at searching. Ultra Ball gets energy in the discard while you search for ANY Pokemon you need, while Level Ball gets you the Eelektriks without having to waste an Ultra Ball for it. All in all, it's just more consistent to discard something you might not need, like an Eelektrik when you're already set up, than putting it back in your deck for a junk draw later.

+1 Level Ball
+1 Ultra Ball

-2 Plus Power

Honestly, I'm on the wall about this one. Sometimes you really need that extra 10 damage for a KO, but the only time I've really needed one is for a benched Shaymin EX. I really feel those two spots should go to two more Ns.

+2 N

Early game hand refresh, late game disruption, AND can save you by returning cards from your hand since this deck discards a lot of stuff. Honestly one of the staples for this season.

-2 Eviolite

I'm also on the fence for this one. But you really need the draw support, and a 2nd Skyarrow Bridge.

+1 Juniper
+1 Skyarrow Bridge

Energy

Since you insist on the Rayquaza, I won't mess with these since it's your strategy.

If you need any more help with an Eels deck, feel free to shoot me a PM or leave me a profile comment. I'd still make more changes to this, but it depends on what you have available. Good luck!

P.S MAX POTIONS ARE THE BOMBBBBBBBBBB. Ask Roguechomp lol.

Can you get another Rayquaza or two? If so, definitely get those in because if your only rayquaza is prized, that's pretty bad. I know you have backup attackers, but I would have one main attacker (Rayquaza in this case). I'm assuming you can't get a SR Rayquaza, so I won't even mention that, but if you can get ahold of one, definitely add one of those. Also, if you add more Rayquaza EX, I would add a few more fire and maybe take out a DCE or two. Finally, I got ahold of a few Darkrai EX tins on bay, so if you look, I'm sure you can get a few Mewtwo tins for not too much. Thanks for reading and good luck!

@Puckstoper20; not bad. I might try that, and I might try to find space for Max Potions. I'll bump the list later.

@pokemonjoe; sadly, the tins aren't out yet, and BR's start in about a week (though I won't be attending one for another two weeks).

Yeah, Max Potiona are amazing especially with Tornadus EX against Terrakion. When I was against Puckstopper once, I kept doing my solid 70 damage to his Tornadus EX. Once he got to 140 damage, hey look, Max Potion. Its really annoying and can set your opponent back a lot.

Max Potion + Raikou EX = Definitally a pair.

@pokemonjoe; sadly, I'm in no position atm to get a hold of said tins in time.

@RougeChomp; okay, I'm definitely adding Max Potions somewere.
