I think you're better off trying to start with Dome Fossil and go for the donk. Also, Fossil Excavator is nice, but it can't grab Aerodactyl so that might be trickier to get out. Since I'm guessing you're going to pretend like trainer lock doesn't exist (which I think you should, at least for now -- get a solid base idea THEN build techs against match-ups), you might as well run a few Pokemon Communications. Maybe Chatot G if you REALLY need Aerodactyl to search for more fossils, or VS Seeker to get back Fossil Excavator. A big problem I had with this deck when I built it a long time ago is the lack of big damage. Most Stage 1/2 decks will take the hit and heal somehow. Omastar is nice, but he doesn't really do anything until real late game, and even then it's an absolute maximum of 140, which means a lot of Stage 2 decks with e-belt are still out of KO range. I would definitely run E-belt as well in that case.
P.S. Did you know that the artwork on Omastar AR and Kabutops AR is the same scenario, from different angles?
