I think you're off to a good start, but one thing I would say is to pay attention to color. On the scout the hot pink and the lime green clash, and while the blue of the shorts helps cool it down, the red of the shirt makes it clash again. A good way that I like to practice using color is this website, where you pick one color, and it shows you all of the colors schemes that include it, which will help you understand color as an artist!
