Keldo-EX 2013 Tin Had XY Booster Packs?!

Why isn't there a holo ponyta card? Come on!

Hey guys,

I have no idea if I'm posting in the right thread, but I have a question. (I created an account on here just to do so)

I purchased a sealed Keldeo EX spring tin from 2013 on eBay for almost $30. It was more expensive because the packaging promises 4 Pokemon Black & White series booster packs which are now out of print. I opened mine (shrink wrap and all) on camera for my Pokemon TCG YouTube channel and was shocked to find 3 of the 4 packs were XY. (Base set XY, Primal Clash, & a Furious Fists). The ONLY Black & White series booster pack I received was a Black & White Dragons Exalted.

I watched other YouTube channel openings of the same Keldo EX tin and everyone had 4 Black & White series packs. In addition to all that- the packs were complete duds. (Not that I'm blaming my odds- it happens sometimes) but I got 4/4 non-holo rares.

So my questions are:
A.) Was my Keldo EX tin tampered with?
B.) Is it possible to weight tins? (Like packs are weighed to find holo cards?)

I'll post a link to my YouTube video opening of this box shortly.
Thanks everyone for reading! Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Video has been uploaded featuring the opening of this tin-

I highly suspect the tin was re-sealed with weighed packs. The Keldeo-EX tin should have 1 Plasma Storm, 1 Boundaries Crossed, and 2 random packs from older BW sets.

Question: Did it include a Meloetta and a code card? The EX Power Tin trio each had a Meloetta promo and code card included. If it was missing that card, it's even further proof that it was tampered with.

Sounds to me like the eBay seller deserves a poor review.

Thank you so much for a reply! Right? I have a feeling it was tampered with.

However, I did receive an appropriate Keldo code card along with a fighting type promo Meloetta. And it was sealed up just like factory; or at least well enough that I never thought twice to suspect other wise. I contacted the eBay seller asking about this- but Im sure they'll just say it was factory and it's not their problem! I've never heard of people selling "sealed" tins that have been tampered with. Just my luck! :/

Good to hear you still got the Meloetta. I like those cards. :p

Sorry that you got swindled. I know the feeling. :( I've run across a few resealed products in my time that had looked very close to factory. It's a shame. And your seller didn't even make it believable with the sets they included in the tin....

It is possible, though, that he is a re-reseller; e.g. he picked up the tin from elsewhere and sold it as new thinking it was. I'd still personally leave negative feedback so they reassess their suppliers.

Yeah... been a few years since I sold on eBay, but when I check with others it is hard to deal with negative feedback. It isn't just warning others about a potential scammer or seller who was swindled his or herself; unless it was a change someone failed to mention, its going to affect what they can do on eBay. If being an eBay seller is more than a hobby, you might be affecting this person's livelihood because he or she was also duped.

@Holo Ponyta Contact this seller. I know you are sure s/he won't remedy the situation but I think you have at least a 50-50 shot. Most sellers would rather take a small hit "making it right" than get negative feedback. I could be wrong; this seller could be a total jerk or a scammer hoping you won't notice what happened, but talking to them first is how you make sure. If this seller is being negligent or just a jerk even when it is his or her fault, yeah leave negative feedback. At this point though, we don't know; not like the seller can open the tin to make sure it hasn't been tampered with and then still sell it as factory sealed. ;)

I bought a Deoxys Tin at Target around 4 months ago with the same thing. The packs were not weighed because I did get at leeast one EX card but it contained 2 XY Base, 1 Flashfire and a Legendary Treasures. Today I bought a Keldeo Tin at Walmart that had 2 Furious Fists, 1 Flashfire and 1 Plasma Blast. I seriously think they might keep pounding out cards, tins etc after everybody thinks they are out of print. All of the Dollar Tree stores in my area have gotten 2 boxes (at least) of the following in the last couple weeks: XY, Furious Fists, Flashfire and Primal Clash. Isn't this all a little too weird? Walmart hasn't had Flashfire Boosters for over 6 months but all the Dollar Trees are getting in Flashfire like it's new??
