Hello there. I have been in Pokebeach for over a year now, but this is my first thread in about... 6 months. I am now back in the game, at least temporarily. When I first came back, I noticed that my team was a little bit out of date. Excadrill banned, and a while load of things. I had always been wanting to build a "dream team", that combined all of the sets I had found over time that kicked butt. I'm not sure this is it yet, but it is good enough until I am able to find six sets that all work together in perfect harmony. I introduce to you... The Knights of the Round Table!
Forretress(Sir Bedevere)@Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Sassy -Speed,+Special Defense
EV's: 200HP/0Att./56Def./0Sp.Att./252Sp.Def./0Spe.
Moves:
-Spikes
-Toxic Spikes
-Rapid Spin
-Gyro Ball
Description: Sorry about no Team Building Process, my ideas weren't structured enough to make one. Anyways, here is my lead, Forretress! Forretress is usually my first pokemon put out, as long as the opponent is not a strong special attacker, a fire-type, or both. Custap Berry is to guarantee at least two layers of Spikes or Toxic Spikes down, or one layer and getting rid of entry hazards. Sturdy works along side with it. A sassy nature lowers the speed for Gyro Ball to be more effective, and to help against mild Special Attacks. Spikes and Toxic Spikes are a big part of my strategy. Without them, Gyrados would be almost useless. Rapid Spin is helpful for Gyrados especially, and Gyro Ball is for Taunters, especially the fast ones. I put 200 and 252 EVs in HP and Special Defense to brace for special attackers, and 56 in defense to brace against powerful physical sweepers.
Synergy:
Fire: Tyranitar, Heatran, Gyarados
Tyranitar(Sir Lancelot)@Chople Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Relaxed -Speed/+Def.
EV's: 252HP/0Att./100Def./56Sp.Att./100Sp.Def./0Spe.
Moves:
-Ice Beam
-Rock Slide
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock
Description: Tyranitar is kind of my second set-up Pokemon. It provides two important things. Stealth Rock and Sandstorm. Both of these can be problems for teams that aren't set up properly, especially weather teams. Putting Tyranitar second gives me an advantage of getting the best of other weather starters. If a Ninetails or Politoed comes up, I can switch to appropriate pokemon to eliminate it, and then send in Tyranitar to cripple the other team. A relaxed nature along with a Chople Berry allows Tyranitar to survive some weaker Fighting attack, especially coupled with 404 HP and 309 defense. 252 HP, 100 Defense, and 100 Special Defense Ev's provide Tyranitar with considerable bulk. 56 Special Attack EV's allow Ice Beam to do a bit of damage to otherwise deadly Gliscor. Rock Slide and Earthquake provide good coverage, and are considerably strong.
Synergy:
Fighting: Gyrados
Water: Breloom, Gyrados
Grass: Forretress, Breloom, Heatran, Jirachi
Bug: Forretress, Heatran, Gyarados
Steel: Forretress, Heatran, Gyarados, Jirachi
Breloom(Sir Robin)@ Poison Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Nature: Adamant -Sp.Att./+Att.
EVs: 32HP/100Att./100Def./0Sp.Att./176Sp.Def./0Spe.
Moves:
-Spore
-Leech Seed
-Substitute
-Focus Punch
Description: Breloom. Bane of practically every team in the 4th generation that wasn't specifically designed to destroy it, and powerhouse of early Dream World OU. This set may bring back many bad memories from 4th generation players, except for one move, Leech Seed. You almost never see it on a Breloom. Believe me, it's annoying. Breloom is my first status pokemon/annoyer. Breloom causes switches that allow all of the hazards to do their damage. Adamant nature allows the powerful Focus Punch to do tons of damage to almost anything. The EV's are quite random, but are made to make Breloom powerful, while giving it a little bulk. Not much to say about to set, except that Poison Heal, Leech Seed, Spore, and Substitute combined is a nightmare, especially with Focus Punch.
Synergy:
Flying: Tyranitar, Heatran, Jirachi
Fire: Tyranitar, Heatran, Gyarados
Physic: Forretress, Tyranitar, Heatran, Jirachi
Poison: Forretress, Tyranitar, Heatran, Jirachi
Ice: Forretress, Heatran, Jirachi
Heatran(King Arthur)@ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Calm
EV's: 248HP/0Att./128Def./0Sp.Att./132Sp.Def./0Spe.
Moves:
-Lava Plume
-Torment
-Substitute
-Protect
Description: For those who have not player it before, this is the TormenTran set, possibly the least noted and most deadly set I have ever seen. I used this Heatran in almost all of my teams before my over-extended break, and I don't plan to change my style. Heatran is the one of my two pokemon that uses the spread status and hazards to start KO'ing pokemon. The Torment, Substitute, and Protect combo is one of the deadliest out there. I start out by switching in on a pokemon with a type disadvantage. When they switch out, I use Torment. On the first turn when they use a powerful move, I protect, seeing that Heatran can survive any attack with the 248/128/132 defensive spread, on the next turn, I substitute. After that, I can attack with the generally powerful Lava Plume, protecting every other turn. This strategy can destroy almost any pokemon, especially with entry hazards and status problems.
Synergy:
Ground: Breloom, Gyarados
Water: Breloom, Gyarados
Fighting: Gyarados
Gyarados(The Black Knight)@ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Impish -Sp.Att/+Def.
EVs: 248HP/0Att./252Def./0Sp.Att./8Sp.Def./0Spe.
Moves:
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Thunder Wave
-Dragon Tail
Description: If you see this set anywhere else, tell me. This is the one set on my team that is completely not based off of anything in particular. I guess it might be slightly based on Sleep Talk Gyarados, but used a hazer... or a status spreader. This particular spread has always been quite useful, and can get almost anything down. Intimidate, and Impish nature, and max Defense EV's provides Gyarados with amazing defense, sometimes surviving Arcanine's Wild Bolt, resting, and knocking it away with Dragon Tail/Sleep Talk. Thunder Wave provides paralysis which helps my rather slow team quite a bit. With Dragon Tail, Gyarados can spread paralysis to the opponent's whole team.
Synergy:
Electric: Breloom
Rock: Breloom, Jirachi
Jirachi(Sir Galahad)@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252HP/48Att./100Def./0Sp.Att./0Sp.Def./108Spe.
Moves:
-Iron Head
-Body Slam
-Trick
-Wish
Description: To start out, I know the EV's are a complete mess. I was kind of desperate, so I pulled them out of midair. It would be nice if I could have some help with them. Besides that, Jirachi is a pretty good pokemon. Serene Grace, Body Slam, and Thunder Wave create the horrible super-parahax combo that can drive teams insane. Before doing that though, I come in on a defensive pokemon and trick away the choice scarf, rendering it useless. Though is a paralyzed pokemon is in, a choiced Iron Head works very well. Wish is good for restoring the HP of pokemon that can't do it themselves, basically all of my team besides Gyarados. Adamant nature is for increased power with Iron Head, to hopefully get some KO's.
Synergy:
Ground: Breloom, Gyarados
Fire: Tyranitar, Heatran, Gyarados
Strategy: Now that I have shown you the team, here is the strategy. I usually end up sending out Forretress first. If the opponent starts out with a fire type, usually Ninetails, I switch in Heatran, who can overpower. If Forretress come in, I can usually get up three layers of Spikes and switch out. I then go to Tyranitar, who puts up Stealth Rock and starts a Sandstorm. Tyranitar can also get rid of Gliscor by giving it an unexpected Ice Beam. Once I have all entry hazards up, I either go to Breloom or Gyarados, depending on the type. When Breloom comes up, it can force switches and get a few KO's, and when Gyarados comes up, it hazes and spreads around paralysis. Once I have a good amount of damage, I send in Heatran, who can break through the weakened team. Once it gets down to the last pokemon, I send out Jirachi to give it a scarf and back to Heatran to cause it to Struggle every other turn, which gets rid of it within four turns max.
Name Origins: All names come from 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail', which I highly suggest to anyone who hasn't watched it. Here is a little closer look.
Sir Bedevere- Sir Bedevere in the movie was the one who always followed around King Arthur, and was more scientific than the other knights. I chose him mostly for a lack of a good name for Forretress.
Sir Lancelot- Sir Lancelot in the movie was a crazy guy who would just go around killing everyone that he saw. Seeing that Tyranitar is a pretty powerful pokemon, I chose him for the name.
Sir Robin- In the movie, Sir Robin was also known as Not-quite-as-brave-as-Sir-Lancelot Sir Robin. Seeing that Breloom is a lot more frail than Tyranitar, and a bit more amusing, I chose him for this name.
King Arthur- In the movie, King Arthur was the leader of the knights of the round table, and I also find Heatran to be the leader of this team, due to its ability to break down almost any weakened team.
The Black Knight- In the movie, the Black Knight wasn't in the knights of the round table, but he didn't let up even when he had all of his limbs chopped off. Gyarados is kind of the same way. It can be at 1 HP and suddenly come back to full health and destroy you.
Sir Galahad- In the move, Sir Galahad was one of the more mild knights, and quite a bit amusing. I chose this name for Jirachi because Jirachi is a bit more mild then the rest of my team, but it can catch anyone off guard.
Well, that's my team in its entirety. Please comment and leave suggestions. I don't mind a little criticism, but this is my first team after almost sixth months.
