Kyurem/Groudon - Black/White On

Caledrith

Pokemon is Expensive...

Hey, I'm not new to pokemon tcg, but I did take a 6 month break. I was trying to put together a new deck, as I think Zeelectrick is stupid. I was trying to think of a good deck with Kyurem, as I love the pokemon. With Feraligatr going out of rotation, I thought I was out of luck. I decided to go back to my first energy type, fighting. I looked at Groudon and really liked it due to owning Darkrai. The only problem was it can't one shot without 2 damage counters being on Darkrai, or if Groudon has a pluspower(excluding eviolite ok?)

The solution was Kyurem. It does 30 to all pokemon, which allows Groudon to sweep most anything after 1 Glaciate, 2 for Tornadus and the like. The new blend energy applies to both Groudon and Kyurem, so that is a total bonus, along with Prism energy. The one problem with this is Enhanced Hammer, but with junk arm getting kicked out, and Sableye getting owned by Groudon, this isn't a huge issue.

Without further a due, here is the deck list:

Pokemon:
3x Groudon EX
3x Kyurem

Trainers:
4x N
3x Bianca
4x Juniper
2x Cilan
2x Random Reciever
4x Pokemon Catcher
2x Revive
3x Super Scoop Up
3x Switch
2x Ultra Ball

Energy:
4x Prism Energy
4x Blend Energy
3x Water Energy
3x Fighting Energy

Total: 49

Edits:
-1 RR
-1 Revive
-1 Switch
+2 Juniper
+1 N
----------------

I know this isn't nearly a perfect list, but that is why I am posting it. What the heck do I add next?

Well, It's pretty great, but you might need to lower numbers on some stuff...

-1 Random Receiver (You don't always need this)
-1 Revive (2 is usually enough, you hardly ever use it)
-1 Switch ( This is wasting room)
=3

+2 Prof. Juniper (You need the draw Power)
+1 N (^)
=3

I hope this helped. :)

Thanks so much!

I'm concerned if I remove 1 revive, I will get owned because I only have 6 pokemon to begin with. Is this not an issue? Also, isn't Bianca enough for Draw Power?

I do have 11 more spaces just so everyone knows...

There are decks that have run with only 4 pokemon so I think with 2 revives you'd be good, Bianca is god but Juniper is far more superior. You dont really think how valuable that 7th card is until you need it plus bianca is until you have 6 which mean that if you have 2 cards you cant get rid of you're only drawign an extra 4 as opposed to an extra 7

I really think that EXP share is absolutely necessary here. I would run 3x of it. If you're doing that, I also suggest changing the energy line to 4x water, 4x fighting, 3x blend 3x prism. I don't like Cilan here at all and neither will you when you random receiver into it late in the match. I would also max out ultra ball for consistency. Since you're not running eviolites I like potion in this deck as well because a well time potion can prevent a 2hko on a groudon EX by darkrai or tornadus ex.

I 100% agree. Your Energy flow is going to be fairly slow with no form of acceleration. Also remembering it'll take you 3 turns to Glaciate and without Exp. Share, another 3 to then Giant Claw. Could Energy Switch be of any use in here?

I think running only 6 Pokemon is risky so you need more cards that allow you to draw the Pokemon you need. HEAVY BALL IS A NECESSITY HERE as it allows you to draw both of your Pokemon with no negative effects. Also, I don't see any harm in running 4 of each Pokemon instead of 3.

Is it a good idea to use kyrem EX or kyougre EX in stead of those cards?

You may drop 1 Kyurem for 1 Kyurem EX, it may be useful for discarding Special Energies from opponent active pokemon
There is many Special Enegies on the next format because almost every decks plays Blend Energies or Prism Energies

Kyogre EX isn´t needed in this deck, because it´s too risky for Lightning Weakness

Heavy ball would only work on groudon ex, kyurem has a 2 retreat cost.
