Pokémon (14):

  • 2 Mewtwo EX (beatdown)
    3 Gengar EX (beatdown)
    3 Phantump (evolution)
    3 Trevenant (disable)
    2 Wobbuffet (disable)
    1 Mr Mime (protect)

Trainers (34):

  • 4 Professor Sycamore (draw)
    2 Lysandre (control)
    3 Shauna (draw)
    3 Skyla (search)
    3 N (draw)
    1 Startling Megaphone (discard)
    1 Dowsing Maschine (retrieval)
    1 Sacred Ashes (retrieval)
    3 Muscle Band (attack)
    3 Float Stone (retreat)
    2 Vs Seeker (retrieval)
    4 Ultra Ball (search)
    4 Dimensional Valley (cost reduction)

Pokémon (12):

  • 4 Mystery Energy
    8 Psychic Energy

STRATEGY:

Go first and start with Gengar Ex. Bench Phantump and another basic. Evolve into Treventant on the second turn and use Dimensional Valley to reduce the attack cost of Dark Corridor. Switch into Trevenant to lock their trainers. Use Float Stone to retreat Trevenant and continue with the hit and run tactic. Mr Mime is used to protect from bench hitters.

Wobbuffet constitutes an alternate disabler who can shut down abilities. In contrast to other hit and run decks the disablers are able to attack in this deck. Wobbuffet can finish where Gengar Ex left and Trevenant can hit the bench. Mewtwo Ex is used as an alternate main attacker.

The trainers have been chosen to ensure draw and search out needed cards as fast as possible. Tools enable free retreat and two hit knock outs. Lysandre gusts out Pokémon that want to escape to the bench and Vs Seeker has been shown to be real versatile. The maximum number of stadium cards is needed in this deck to have one out turn two and to win the stadium war.

Wobbuffet is a worst Garbodor. It has to be active and all it disables is Eggs. Also is Dragonite EX counted in Garbodor Lock?

If your opponent is using Trevenant Lock you are doing nothing.

@ Above I believe the translation for Wobbuffet has been changed and that it also removes Abilities on Pokemon in play.

Yes, it turns off Dragonite EX as well, as it turns off all abilities everywhere, save those on Psychic Pokemon.

Hi Mr. Muffin,

While Garbodor is better at locking abilities he would also lock down Trevenant. Wobbuffet seems to be a nice compromise since he can shut down Genesect to maintain board control and other decent abilities on non-psychic Pokémon. Since most Genesect decks neither use Lysandre nor Escape Rope he can act as a staller and he can also be used to attack in case he survives and there is no need to switch into Trevenant.

Hi folks,

Revised the deck a little after some test runs. Would be interested in comments and reviews.
