Welcome to the Leaders of the Region Contest!

All this fake card contest consists of is creating a gym leader's Pokemon card. When you have created the card you may submit it and wait for the voting day to take place where members will take the time to vote on the best creation.

Just like the Create-a-Card Competition, you may submit either a text-based or an image-based card.

Be sure to read the rules very carefully before starting on your card.


Rules​



  • You must submit a card that you have spent time on, and have not just put together in a few minutes.
  • Be sure to submit a gym leader's Pokemon card.
    -- [Owner's] [Pokemon] or [Pokemon] GL (with the gym leader's picture located somewhere on the card).
    -- Ex: Brock's Onix or Onix GL (with a picture of Brock).
  • You must pick a Pokemon that belongs to the gym leader.
  • The card must be playable.
  • Always ask permission before using anyone's artwork.
  • If you choose to create an image-based card make sure you give credit! You may automatically be disqualified if proper credit is not given.
  • Make sure you look over your card before posting.
  • If it is truly necessary for you to edit your post, then please let me know before editing.
  • Be sure to vote for one image-based card and one text-based.
  • Show us your skills and have fun!

I‘m in for text-based. Haven‘t done this sort of stuff in a while, so bear with me...

EDIT: Is “belongs to the gym leader“ based off the anime or in-game, and if so, which game?

Ninetales GL 90 HP [R]
Basic Pokemon

Poke-Body: Magic Tail
Whenever Ninetales GL would be damaged by an opponent‘s attack but would not be Knocked Out, shuffle Ninetales GL and all cards attached to it into your deck. This Poke-Body stops working when you don‘t have any Benched Pokemon.

[R][C] Grudge Flare 20+
You may search your deck for Ninetales GL and discard it. If you do, this attack does 20 damage plus 30 more damage and the Defending Pokemon is now Burned and Confused.

Weakness: [W] x2
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: [C]

A wacky kind of beatdown card. Would obviously be powerful with
the T1 Energy Gain, but also hilariously easy to deal with temporarily. The double Special Conditions on the attack are because I didn‘t want to put too much direct damage on a potential first-turn attack. The Pokebody is meant to balance its speed out a little.

I felt the combination of Pokebody and attack would be a nice way to integrate the whole ‘touch its tail and you‘re cursed‘ thing too: you attack it, so it goes away to take revenge later. By fueling Grudge Flares.

Hmm, when you say the card must be playable, are you talking about BW-on? I mean, if I choose to make a Owner's Pokémon like the ones from Gym Heroes (wich are weak by nowadays standards), should I be faithful for that sets era? I'd have to make it as strong as a BW-on Pokémon?

Either way, count me in.

@Delta Nite: Be creative with your card. You don't exactly need to follow that set's era. Also, will you be submitting an image or text-based card?

Yes I did the artwork, i drew it by myself and photoshopped it, no misunderstanding please.
Shell Palisade: Inspired by SP pokemon's cheap one-use Effect/attack and, obviously, Brongzong G (i didnt write it like Brongzong G s pokepower because it didnt sound alright.)
TM TS2, devoluter, reference for Pull Down.

Onix GL - Fighting - HP80
Basic Pokémon

Poké-Body: Stealth Rock
If Onix is on your Bench and your opponent switches the Defending Pokémon, put 2 damage counters on the new Defending Pokémon.

[F][C] Smack Down
If the Defending Pokémon has a [F] Resistance, this attack does 30 damage plus 60 more damage.

Weakness: [G] x2
Resistance: [L] -20
Retreat Cost: [C][C][C][C]
