Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake?

Where are your sources slickmario? i wanna know where it says that ss is a direct prequel, and that it will be available before oot

Mew - i also missed out on it, but if i remember correctly, there's just more to the dungeons, not increased difficulty

I haven't played it, but from what I understand many of the dungeons have harder puzzles and whatnot. It's nice to see it get ported with the normal version.

Master Quest is funny because every dungeon gets harder, except for the Water Temple, which becomes easier.

Anyway, a remake of MM would be <3 but I don't think it'll happen.

Why does this almost make me want to buy a 3DS? These graphics are delicious for my eyes, and I haven't played OoT in like 5 years...

Also some info on the control system and graphical upgrades:

A Zelda classic now in glasses-free 3D

Amazing 3D visuals and a complete graphical overhaul bring one of gaming's most beloved and celebrated franchises to life, putting the awe-inspiring world in the palm of your hand for you to explore whenever you like.

New controls using the Nintendo 3DS system's technologies

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D retains the analogue control of the original, using the Circle Pad on Nintendo 3DS, but greatly improves ease of use with a touch-based inventory system. Switching items has never been simpler or quicker.

Players can also use the first-person shooting (camera-controlled) feature utilising the gyro sensor.

The game’s original control scheme has been completely re-designed to fully make the best use of the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS system. Players will be able to control Link by utilising the Circle Pad whilst the Touch Screen of the Nintendo 3DS is used to assign items, check maps and ensure that Link is wearing the appropriate equipment - all in a fresh and intuitive way. Players can also take advantage of the in-built gyro sensor of the Nintendo 3DS; the implemented motion controls allow you to look around your environment when in first person perspective simply by physically moving the Nintendo 3DS system.

Not only does the fully-3D gameplay experience provide easier in-game navigation, but an improved and intuitive interface gives you better control as you solve puzzles, travel through time and explore the immersive land of Hyrule. Players not so familiar to the Legend of Zelda series can also get a helping hand through bite sized videos available in-game which will provide hints on how to solve puzzles encountered during your journey.

Fans of the original game will be pleased to know that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D also heralds the inclusion of two brand new additional challenges not available in the original game; Master Quest and Boss Challenge.

Master Quest mode will see some surprising changes to the game. Puzzles will have to be thought about and solved in new ways from the main Story mode, whilst items and enemies will be found in different locations. The land of Hyrule has also been reversed as locations are mirrored - so what would ordinarily have been on the right now appears on the left and vice versa. Enemies will also prove more difficult to beat, and as such the greater complexity involved in this new Master Quest will test the gameplay abilities of even the most seasoned fans and prove a new experience for all.

The new Boss Challenge mode acts as an extra treat for those players who reach a certain point within the game. It will provide players with the opportunity to face any of the previous Bosses they have defeated once again, or, the option to face and confront them one-by-one, all in a continuous battle.

The game’s graphical re-working coupled with the three-dimensional depth provided by your Nintendo 3DS breathes new life into this timeless classic. Whether you're a first-time player or a regular visitor to Hyrule, the engaging, immersive gameplay features of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D offers a magical new adventure for all.

This can stay open for now as a discussion thread for the game.

I'm not the only one who bought this immediately for the soundtrack CD, without even owning a 3DS, am I?

@Chariblaze

I don't even have a 3DS, and am not getting one until Christmas, but I also got the game early so I could get the CD.

No. But I actually got the 3DS a day before without knowing it'd happen. I was planning on doing that though.

Is the soundtrack the same as the N64 version? From what I've heard, it is, but I just wanted to clarify. Merci, all.

Yes but it mentioned but i think at e3 they mentioned it would have over 50 songs so i don't think that all of those came from the n64 version...

Actually, I have the N64 OST and it has 82 songs. :p I'm considering getting a 3DS just for this game. I love OoT.

I'm 90% sure it is. However, they might be using the slightly updated 3DS versions.

To my understanding, they were boasting (not bad boasting, mind you) about having more than 50 songs, some unreleased. I would have to assume that this means unreleased in America, as the OST CMP mentioned obviously has way more.

Ooh...so the songs are slightly updated? Awesome!
