BW/BW2 Legendaries based on Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards?

There's been some speculation that Zekrom and Reshiram are based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! cards Judgment Dragon and Dark Armed Dragon, check the card pics to see for yourself:

What do you guys think? Is Gamefreak is trying to copy off of Yu-Gi-Oh! now?

Judgment Dragon and DAD look 100% better then Resh and Zek and they are much more powerful and literaly changed the yugioh tcg for 2+ years
 
I can see what you mean though.

To me, most of the pokemon in Gen 5 look like Digimon. But like all things, ideas have to come from somewhere.
Its hard to believe that Pokemon has THAT many unique ideas.

I mean, between Duel Master, Yugioh, Pokemon, Magic, and other games, it was only a matter of time before we saw similar creatures.
 
[/align]Why is everyone thinking the new pokemon are based off of other tv shows/video games etc? First we have digimon, then it is a fakemon, and now Yugioh. Gah I honestly don't see any similarity between the two.

Dark Armed dragon is based off the Armed Dragon species, which has steel mechanical parts. If Zekrom were to be based off that idea it would need to be Dragon/Steel.

And Judgement Dragon looks nothing like Reshiram, if you are to make any comparison, compare it with the digimon Magnadramon.

But even then that is a weak comparison at best.
 
Reshiram has only the head a little similar with Judgment Dragon but nothing else.

Yup they're dragons. Rek and Judgement are white... Zek and DAD are black. I'm not seeing the connections. The new pokemon do look very yugioh esque though. The pokemon obviously aren't copied... or anything close.
 
they do look pretty similar, but I douubt it was on purpose, I really am disappointed with the designs for reshiram and zekrom

I think reshiram looks exactly like both combined
 
I see no similarities other than feathers and color. Honestly, there's bound to be some similarities between two franchises eventually. Read: SOME. It doesn't mean that the legends are based from YGO, otherwise we'd have an anime involving Pokemon Battles... ON BICYCLES.
 
I've thought that Zekrom and Reshiram look like Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh but when I say that I just mean that they don't look like normal pokemon. I don't see the resemblance maybe certain parts of them look similar but thats about all.
 
Well, I guess if it's not a fakemon, then it just HAS to be based off of some anime, manga, or game. Maybe GF wanted to make Pokemon less childish, ( I am NOT saying that Pokemon was bad before; I loved it) or just change it up a little.

They do look somewhat similar, and no offense, but you are trying to hard to say GF copied off of some other franchise. (Not just you, but other people as well.)
 
Pokemon copying yu-gi-oh? Finally something else other then the usual pokemon is copying digimon. Which has happened since 3rd gen lol.
 
I don't think they meant to copy off Yugioh. Like stated previously, it was inevitable to have similar creatures. They do look very similar, though. Dark Armed Dragon and Judgment Dragon are 2 amazing cards, I wonder if Reshiram and Zekrom will be amazing too.
 
Zekrom looks more like Doomsday in Telefang, and as for Reshiram, he looks like Fangwar, or those lv 99 pegasus dragon-looking in telefang than DAD and JD.

Not that others get it though...
