Ruling Level Max

Assume I flip heads after playing Level Max, so I search my deck. Also assume I have the lv. X in my hand and know that there isn't one in my deck. Can I play the lv. X in my hand to level up someone on my bench, or does it have to come from my deck?

Since it specifies the deck and not the hand, you have to get one from the deck. If you use a card like Bebe's Search before Level Max, you can put it in the deck.

I think you can still play the card though. IIRC there was a question a while ago that asked if you could still look and shuffle. If you flip heads, you won't be able to evolve from anything outside of the deck though.
