Ruling level up

i know this rule but my friend don't believe that

for ex: when i have a stage 2 pokemon and that pokemon is sleep or paralized or burned or poisoned or confused or other effect in the pokemon and i put the level up pokemon
for example empoleon to empoleon lv.X what happens with the effect?

When you level up a Pokemon, just as when you evolve a Pokemon, all status changes (Sleep, paralysis, burn, or confusion) are removed

No, the status is removed, it returns to normal state.

Re-read the former post. They DO lose special conditions. Unless there is an a poke-body that prevents a status from being removed, they are always removed.
