Like Power Spray?

@DNA: Bodies are present at all times. If body spray existed (Which it does, if that was what you're trying to get at XD) then it would be really stupid to use it.

I'm not saying it doesn't take skill to know when to use Power Spray. It does. And while it is psychological, that doesn't matter if you have never met the person you're playing. It turns into luck.

@Tyraniking: Seriously, if you say the words Body Spray, it just makes a discussion all the more hilarious.

The problem I have with power spray vs yugioh traps is that yugioh is designed for reaction moves and chains can continue to counter for as long as they can be set up. Power spray, once played, cannot be countered. For there to be strategy involved, the person playing power spray would have to not be able to know if it would be countered.

This is what defines pokemon. It is an attack based system with support from other cards.

(In real life, power spray does not effect my deck and is a wasted draw)

Power Spray does not introduce "luck" to Pokémon any more than most other cards do. You want to talk about pure luck? That's flip-based cards. If you're facing an SP deck, you can count on there being a few Sprays in the deck. It's counter/preventable (Vileplume, Pitch Dark, etc.), and you don't necessarily always have to be in the dark about whether or not your opponent is holding it (Looker's, anyone?).

Saying Power Spray introduces luck because you don't know if your opponent has it in hand is like saying Rare Candy introduces luck to the game because you don't know whether or not your opponent can instantly evolve that benched Machop into Machamp and revenge-kill your SP Pokémon. That's just silly logic.

I agree that flip-based cards are luck. They always will be, which is why I limit them as much as possible (currently running: 0).
My point that it's luck isn't just "your opponent may or may not have it." What makes Spray different is that it's played during your turn. Heck, you might know if your opponent has it, but you still can't tell if you can safely play something, or what card you should play first, etc. Whether or not your opponent can evolve that Machamp with the Rare Candy doesn't influence your ability to do what you want on your turn.
The point of turns is for one person to act, then the next. I don't get why there's this card that allows one player to interfere during the other's turn.

@DNA: OK, we're on the same page XD

Power Spray itself isn't based on luck, but drawing into one when you need it is. For instance, I only Spray Set Up for 3, not Set Up for two or one if I have one in my hand unless they need like one card to win or I'm about to set up myself. So after I Spray, just so happens late game they set up for 6 and I don't have a spray. Woops.

WOOHOO COUNTERSPELL/SOLEMN JUDGEMENT FTW!
No seriously, if they make another Trap/Instant like card I might pull my hair out. I'm not joking. I hate Power Spray, and I think the Pokemon Company will see it as a "success" and make a couple more.
I don't care if the effect says "You must have 5 Pokemon on your bench, 6 prize cards left, and your opponent must have 0 cards in his or her hand. *insert Solemn Judgement-like wording*"

Solemn Judgements and Mirror Forces, Counterspells and Mana Leaks, those cards work in their respective games. Yugioh is set up to chain Trap Stun to Seven Tools of the Bandit to Solemn Judgement to Mirror Force. Magic has (many different variations of) Counterspells which stop opponents cards. But they too can be chained.
Pokemon doesn't have any cards that say: "Negate/counter the effect of a trainer card that would prevent you from doing something."

So no, Pokemon should not have any more Trap-like cards. [/minirant]

Mirror Force is not a Counter Trap; you can't chain it to Solemn Judgment, rofl. You're thinking of Dark Bribe :p [/yugioh-nerd]

No no, I meant someone attacked, the opponent used Mirror Force, the original attacker chained Solemn Judgement, then then opponent used Seven Tools of the Bandit (Dark Bribe would also work) on the Solemn, and finally, the attacker used Trap Stun, therefore negating all other traps. The Trap Stun would resolve first, canceling out the other 3 traps. A stupid move, he could have just used trap Stun at the start, but I was making a point. Lol.

If you actually read the Yugioh rulebook you would realize that you cannot chain Trap Stun to the Solemn. You can only chain a Counter Trap to another Counter Trap. (Anyway, if he used Trap Stun at the start, if another Trap was activated after that it would still work.)
I know how to play Yugioh, thank you very much :p
spell speed 3 plz

Oh is Trap Stun not a counter trap? I haven't played Yugioh in a while. And yes, I have read the Yugioh Rulebook (twice while my starter decks were being shipped to me lol).

I do like the ability to respond to things. I would like to see a card that can be played in response to an attack, where that attack's effects are canceled (but damage isn't prevented.)
That could balance some overpowered cards like Machamp SF and Gengar, but it would be overpowered itself if used right.
If Shuppet was still a viable option (it still is... just not so reliable and more easily countered now) it would prevent it being returned to the hand.

Shuppet's not viable. After Mr. Mime went away, it sorta dies. And then there's the new PlusPower rule coming in B/W that it's discarded instead of attached to a Pokémon...

The rule change isn't until the HGSS cycle though, so it's not worth worrying about until it happens. and I have made Shuppet viable. It's biggest loss is Rosanne's Research, otherwise you have to focus on speed, which my build was the most streamline list I could put together. Cyrus works as a good enough replacement. In fact, it has it's advantages in getting the poketurns I need, and chaining next turn.

Judge kills it too; I forgot to mention that.
So does Giratina Let Loose.
And it doesn't do loads of damage. The most is 90/Turn with E-Belt and 4 PlusPowers, which imo is not enough to win, even doing that every turn.

Trap Stun during main phase so you can plan ahead.

Spam protector: We even have fusion pokemon and remove from game. It'll pass, though.
