If my opponent has a Lily Pad Mew with the Neutral Shield ability and I have an evolved pokemon with Rock Guard attached to it, and the Mew attacks, does the Mew get 6 damage counters placed on it? The argument is that the Mew would not take the damage counters because the rock guard is an effect of the evolved pokemon triggered by Mew's attack.

Scans next time. And it wouldn't prevent the damage counters as it's an effect of the tool and not an attack from the evolved pokémon.
