Little help for two small boys??

My boys like playing Pokemon cards, they just started in a league.
(That's how you explain my username. :D)
They have lots of cards, because they have been collecting them for over 3 years now.
They like the new X and Y a lot and they were lucky to get both Mega Ex cards twice!
These are some of the cards they have, they say they're very good:

1x Venusaur-EX
2x M Venusaur-EX
1x Blastoise-EX - Ultra Rare
2x M Blastoise-EX - Ultra Rare
2x Xerneas - Rare
2x Xerneas-EX - Ultra Rare
2x Furfrou - Holo Rare
4x Team Flare Grunt - Uncommon
1x Venusaur-EX - Full Art Ultra Rare
1x Blastoise-EX - Full Art Ultra Rare

The men who run the league don't have much time for them to build a good deck because of all the other kids.
I don't understand Pokemon, so I can't help either.
But they really want to win once and a wile at a tournament.
Could you help me build them 2 nice Decks to play with.
They're just 7 and 9 so just playing for fun in the youngest league.
Thank you!

I would like to help but want to ask a few question first.
Do the boys want to be competitive or more fun with their decks?
How much money are you willing to pay for more cards? More energy and staple cards (Like N, Juniper, Skyla, etc.) will be needed to make a deck.

There are links on this site to some good Xerneas EX/Xerneas decks, which may be a good start for 1 deck (you will need aromatisse though).

Also, what Trainer cards do they have?

They would like to be more competitive, with each other at home but also on tournaments.
We're willing to spend a little money on this.
They're deaming about the Championships. ;-)
They already have the new starter Decks with Fenniken and Chespin
They have a lot of trainer cards, no idea if they're any good.

Some of the good ones that are found in almost every deck are:
Professor Juniper
N
Colress
Skyla
Dowsing Machine
Muscle Band

Thanks!

Well, I hate to break it to you and them, but the Mega Venusaur EX and Mega Blastoise EX aren't too terribly great if they're gonna be playing competitively. Really the only instance that I can think Mega Blastoise would be played is if it were "splashed" (pun intended) into a Blastoise/Keldeo deck, an already established archetype. The downside to that is that Blastoise/Keldeo is pretty expensive to build if you're planning on buying the cards you need. Tropical Beach, which is a very important staple in Blastoise/Keldeo, is available on E-Bay for around $75-$100 per card last time I checked. If they're wanting to play with X and Y cards in their decks, popular archetypes involving XY are Darkrai EX/Yveltal EX, Xerneas/Xerneas EX/Aromatisse, Xerneas EX/Keldeo EX, and just about every deck now runs a couple copies of Muscle Band and Red Card. (By the way, you can't have both Juniper and Sycamore in the same deck)

Hope this helps, LoneWolf2113

So if I buy a Tropical beach card, they can make a strong Blastoise deck?
Witch cards are in a Blastoise/Keldeo Deck??

And how can I make a deck with Mega Venusaur EX?

(Normally I'm really not this blond if you ask me about anything else, but I really don't understand how to build a deck... :-( )

Tropical Beach is a $150 dollar which is a lot of money for someone to spend when just entering the game. You need 3 of them so that would be $450 for one deck. You don't run Mega-Blastoise in a Blastoise deck anyways. There are currently no competitive decks that run a mega. You could make a decent deck that could do ok with megas I guess but it wouldn't be extremely competitive. Do you want a deck that uses megas or a competitive deck that will do extremely well at tournaments?

Edit: We decided to go for the Deck Camoclone suggested for our oldest son.

Problem.... still missing 25 cards. ;-)

Can't find a seller for the 2 aromise he's still missing.
Can he us Granbull and Snubbull 2-3 instead? Or am I talking stupid right now?
(Really want to learn this...)
Can I swith the max potion with something else?

Now for my youngest?
We have these cards eg;

Entei EX; 1
Reshiram; 1
White Kyurum;1
Braixen; 3 Fennekin; 4 Delphox; 2
Froufrou; 2
fire energy; 11
Double colorless energy; 1
Blastoise EX; 2
Venesaur EX; 2
Salamence EX; 1
Stoutland; 3
Krookodile; 1
Empoleon; 3
Scolipede; 3

The best place to generally buy cards is sites like ebay or troll and toad. You can buy single cards there and for decent prices. I don't think adding in a Granbull and Snubull would be a good idea.

How about something like this for your younger son:

Pokemon: 14

  • 2 Virizion EX
    3 Venusaur EX
    3 M Venusaur EX
    2-2 Aromatisse
    2 Genesect EX
Trainers: 38

  • 4 Professor Juniper
    4 N
    4 Skyla
    4 Random Receiver
    1 Colress

    4 Hypnotoxic Laser
    4 Ultraball
    1 Professor Letter
    4 Float stone
    3 Max Potion
    2 Tool scrapper
    1 Dowsing Machine

    3 Virbank City Gym
Energy: 12

  • 2 Plasma
    2 Grass
    4 Rainbow
    4 Prism

Garbodor and Virizion?
Virizion for acceleration... I edited the thing with a second list so she could choose.

A deck that you could build with the M blastoise is a Greninja deck.

I would put
2 Blastoise EX
2 Mega Blastoise EX
4 Frokie
2 Frogader
4 Greninja
2 Kyurem EX

trainers you would definatly want would be

4 Rare Candy
4 professors letters
2-3 energy retrival or energy returner (because you would use a lot of energy)
Other item cards like muscle band, hard charm, and red card depending on playstyle
And then you would need to add supporter cards like Professor Juniper or Professor Sycamore, N, and colress.

I havent played this deck yet but I feel like it could be compettive.

As for the M Venesaur it with Verizion EX and Leafeon and Genesect EX. A deck that I have made that could be pretty good

That way they can both use their mega EX cards. :D
Could you write out the idea with all the 60 cards?
Thanks a lot!

Edit: you wrote Professor Juniper or Professor Sycamore, are there more cards that I can change like this in these decks?

Professor Juniper and Professor Sycamore can not be put in a deck together. You can put one or the other because they do the same thing.

2 Mega Blastoise EX
3 Blastoise EX
2 Keldeo EX
2 Kyurem EX
4 frokie
2 frogader
4 greninja
You could put other pokemon like suicine in the deck but you would use Mega Blastoise as the main attacker while you do damedge from the bench with greninja.

3 Professor Juniper or 3 Professor Sycamore
2 N or another card that isnt as powerful but still good would be shauna
2 Skyla ( I like this card because it lets you search for any trainer card)
3 profesors letters ( lets you grab two basic energy at a time)
2 Super rod (Lets you shuffle a combination of three energy and pokemon back into the deck)
4 Rare Candy ( alows you to go from basic to stage two pokemon)
3 Muscle band ( gives attack a little more power)
2 energy retrival ( Bring energy back to your hand)
2 Pokemon Center (allows you to heal bench pokemon)
2 Red Card ( oponent shuffles hand into deck and draws 4 cards)
3 Float stone ( Free Retreat)

13 water energy

3 mega Venesaur EX
3 Venesaur EX
3 Verizion EX
3 Genesect EX
2 Eevee
2 Leafeon
2 tropis

3 Professor Juniper or 3 Professor Sycamore
2 N or shauna
2 Skyla
2 colress
3 hypnotoxic laser
2 Verbank city gym
3 ultra balls
2 proffesors letters
2 evosoda (allows you to search your deck for a stage one pokemon and evolve that turn)
2 red card
1 G Booster ( allows Genesect EX to do 200 Damage)
2 tool scrapper
2 energy retrival
2 super rod
12 Grass energy

You could replace one of the muscle band in the blastoise deck with 1 computer search
