Long Beach Regionals (January 2014)

No, Grant. I was considering playing Hammertime, my favorite deck, but went with Darkrai EX/Garbodor instead because I fail at prep.
 
I missed regionals because the person who I was supposed to carpool up with called me at 5 AM to say they couldn't go.

Sunday I found another carpool and went up to cities.

Played Yeti with Scoop Up Cyclone, 1 Jirachi, and 4 Deoxys because reasons.

went 0-1 to 4-1 to 4-3. My deck decided to stop working after round 5. I either had energy OR supporters, but never both. Round 7 I started Jirachi and proceeded to not hit a supporter forever.
 
I was a little disappointed with the Regionals. I was close to Top 64 if I won my last round. They ended up pairing me up against someone with a 3 point ranking advantage over my rank......tried to get it fixed but they didn't and I was pair up against a way stronger opponent then I should have been facing. :| Not fun when some people aren't doing their jobs.
 
...oh yeah, I think I heard about that. Didn't they move some of the tables around in response?
 
They did, but funny thing is I move up higher on the tables. After making the first changes, they still had my record wrong at 4-2-1 and made me play someone 4-1-2(14 points) , and I was 3-2-2(11 points). Felt a little bit of a disadvantage with playing someone higher ranked. I much rather have been pair up with someone with the same point level and having a better chance of winning. All I needed to do was win my last match and I would have Top 64 for sure. Had a friend who went 4-3-1 and placed 61st. Eh, what can you do?
