Pretty detailed for what I thought would be a filler chapter, right? Leave your comments and recommend it to who may enjoy this thing and hope you enjoyed the read!
Chapter Eleven: Traveling Abroad
The two boys fell asleep later that night, wrapped up in each other. Though Adam had slightly fallen for Cody, there was still a massive wall up. Even if he liked this boy, there was his father to worry about along with all of his operatives. I mean, who knew where the old sailor would take them? For all he knew, it could be a trap... Fortunately, Adam had these conscious thoughts in his sleep and woke up. He turned to see the boy's soft, golden hair spread out on his bare chest, causing Adam to blush but become even more concerned for the younger boy's life at the same time.
Oh Cody... So adorable yet so vulnerable.
The brunette gently shook the blonde awake, who immediately blushed when he noticed what his pillow was but became super irritated at the same time.
"Why man.... It's 1AM..."
"That's the point. Besides, I kissed you, so you owe me a favor even at the loss of your sleep."
Cody sighed, adjusting himself so he could look the older boy straight in the eye.
"Fine, tell me."
"We need to go to the sailor. Now. I'm certain it's a trap at this point, especially since if he was on our side, he would have let us through long ago. That's why we're stealing the boat and I'M keeping the Sableye."
"Fine, ke- We're doing what?!?"
Adam crawled out of tent after getting dressed and leaving Cody's question unresolved. Noticing he wasn't coming, he took the Pokeball and sealed up all the camp supplies, Cody included.
"Sorry mate, I've gotta get this done before sunrise."
Adam then called out Sableye.
"Hey buddy, see how it's dark outside? Can you help me through to the other side of Petalburg Woods?"
This time, the Sableye's diamonds turned a shade of pink, nodding and grabbing his new trainer's head.
The world in the Twilight Hours is much like the world inside a Pokeball: dark and mysterious. You would never know what you would see (if anything) and danger can strike at any moment. Plus there's always the fear of running into some odd sleepwalking butcher carrying his knife and muttering "Must... Chop... Soup...".
Anyway, the two made their way to Rustboro City, much of the scenery left unchanged from when they left. The gym was still polarizing, the Academy was rubble, and Devin Co. was as odd-placed as ever. Right as the Pokemon and it's new trainer reached the gym, a cry was heard.
"Adam, I swear to God let me out of here!! The tent is jabbing me in places no man should ever be jabbed and it somehow smells like Nicki Minaj mixed with Ke$ha and The Kardashians with a dash of Honey Boo Boo! HELP!"
The older boy stifled his laugh, simply sighing and saying "Just move into the tent, you'll be fine. And as for a smell, your fault for turning the Celine Dion standee into a fridge bro."
The younger boy let a small whine out before the ball fell silent again.
"Someone's a little whiny, huh?"
The gem troll cackled, laughing and nodding in agreement. However, he accidentally set off a Will-O-Wisp headed for both the gym and Devin Co.
"You know, if I spent all this time traveling, why didn't I get a water or flying type for this sort of thing?"
The Sableye shrugged and, unfortunately, the trainer had no choice but to leave, letting Rustboro rise up in flames.
When the two reached the woods, Adam checked his house to make sure everything was OK. But, as he forgot the key and the sun was going to start rising within an hour, the brunette had no choice but to climb back down and leave his home behind, possibly for good.
Adam and Sableye finally arrived at the sailor's house at last. Remembering that a good sailor kept two ledgers to recount his tales in case one went missing, Adam made his way to the boat. Once inside, he quickly found the ledger and the keys in the ignition. He quickly called just Cody out of the ball, strapped him in tight, and started the boat. Of course, the old man heard all of this and came out with his shotgun.
"You kids have five seconds to get out of that boat before I fire! 5... 4... 3..."
Before the old man can finish, the little gremlin, who's basically becoming a Psyduck or Wobbufett at this point, cackled and used Will-O-Wisp multiple times, lighting the dock, man, and his house on fire.
"Bad Sableye!!! Actually... Good Sableye! Let's go!"
Adam turned the key and took off, the boat flying across the water. All that lay in the background was a mountain of flame.
"Someone likes to go out with a bang...." Cody said with a surprised laugh.
"Glad you picked that up Tweety. Next stop.... Unova? Why there...?"
"Well, Unova is pretty mysterious 'Looker'." Cody started, clearly joking. "The region was recently discovered and there's still plenty of mystery shrouding the area."
"As true as that is, it's still an odd place for my father to go. As much as he likes shooting people up and causing havoc, I doubt there's much to shoot there..."
"That's probably the point Adam. Barely anyone there, so maybe he's building up an army of some kind."
"Possibly... There's no point in speculating for now though, we're still a long way's off of Unova. I'll teach Sableye the controls so that we can both sleep. For now, just try to get comfy. Night Tweety."
"Night Adam..." Dammit now I need to think of a good nickname!
And so the moon set, Captain Sableye at the wheel and reading a map for orientation just like a human would. Cody passed out quickly while Adam took a while. The stars were aligned and, as usual, the odd star formations continued their scary path, following the boys wherever they went. Adam got what he deemed once useless that Cody packed, a telescope, out of the Pokeball and gazed up at the stars. Upon close examination, these stars turned out to not be stars, but whatever they were was unsure. All he knew was that he needed to finish this business fast before anymore harm is brought upon the innocent.
In Fortree, Winona and Jupiter stayed up late to watch the news as they usually did. Tonight was rather special though, as it was a recap of the week unlike most other reports, which were disoriented and live. Without much fuss, at the stroke of 10, the news began playing, the special being called "A Week In Insanity".
"Good evening everyone, this is Ariel Lewis for Hoenn 9 News. Tonight, we reflect upon the previous week, the one throwing us to our televisions trying to figure out what the heck happened. Narrating tonight is our chief correspondent (and using a voice filter so everyone can understand her and reading a pre-typed script she's reading after training) Ms. Honey Boo Boo."
"Thank you Ariel and a special shout-out to Abigail Galbreath who I heard is behind bars tonight for being a complete lunatic. Great work Winona!
From the Enigma of Despair to breaking news, tragedy has swept across the nation. It all started off innocently, just a peaceful Monday afternoon with a beautiful sun streaming down. Then a battle happened at Rustboro, wiping out the prestige Pokemon Academy. Havoc pursued further, eventually burning the only wildgrass route, blowing up Mauville City, blowing up Mt. Pyre, and, as of tonight, setting the rest of Rustboro and Captain Briney's home ablaze. The only evidence of the attackers that remains is a ship that bolted away from Briney's house. No faces were identified and we would ask Captain Briney, but he too was burned down. This has been Hoenn 9 News, have a great evening everyone."
