Lucky's Fiery Den of Art

RE: Lucky's Drawings

Are you actually selecting the .jpg or .gif file in question (instead of a .tif or .xcf)? It might be that you're just choosing the wrong file.

And if Imageshack does not work, there is always Tinypic and Photobucket to upload to...but first just make sure you're uploading the right file.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

I was choosing the wrong file. It couldn't open, so that's why. But I took a picture. Sorry for the blurry (and bright) picture. This is my first drawing of Ozzy.

scaled.php

My very first drawing of Ozzy. I even colored it. But sorry for the blurry and bright graphics. :(

RE: Lucky's Drawings

The eyes aren't the same size...or style for that matter. Why'd you draw the eyes so differently?

Also, it appears you colored your drawing in using crayons...? Colored pencil would probably be much more effective in that regard, although you can always just go pure pencil.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

I used colored pencils... They just look the same.

And with the eyes... I drew them a few months ago. They appear a bit strange. I guess that I wanted the left eye to be different. I don't really know the exact reason.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

You need to work on your proportioning. The eyes just aren't positioned right, same thing goes for the arms. The right eye isn't aligned with the left and the right arm should be the same size as the left one, not bigger.

As for the coloring, try coloring moving your hand in a circular motion, so you don't leave white in between and it looks more fluffy. This will make it look less sloppy. Also, color lightly so you can go back in later for shading. From the looks of it you have a heavy hand.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

(Edit: contents deleted for reasons)

Yeah, I'm working on other things. I will add the Weed Horn Dragon when I have time to finish it. :p

EDIT:

scaled.php

This is a Weed Horn Sea Dragon. I worked really hard on it. I hope you like it. :)

RE: Lucky's Drawings

I hope nobody will mind if I revive this thread, especially since I've got some news.

This thread might close soon. I will replace it with a new thread. The new thread will have avatars of dragons- this time, not Ozzy. As you can see, I have been creating drawings of dragons. Unluckily, I can't scan it and edit them for avatars. I can't use a camera, either. I'll be updating the thread weekly or monthly. I have created a drawing that I want to give information about. This is a character, not something you can copy. His name is Drago. No, I didn't get the name from Bakguan, but from a long time ago. I was a little kid. My dad told me that he'd bought lots of Ty dolls for me. So I searched through the boxes, which was full of dolls, and found a dragon doll. It had a tag on it that said "Scorch", but I went and called it Drago. I played with it like it was a real dragon. I still have the doll to this day. Now, I drew a drawing of Drago and what he'd look like in real life and I'd like to explain what it looks like. :)

Drago is a "eared" dragon. Yes, a eared dragon. He has ears. I drew the ears first. They looked sort of furry, but they are scales. When you touch its ears, it feels fuzzy but dracion at the same time. Next, I'll explain the green eyes. They are green, but so faint that you could hardly see the green. I thought he had black eyes. Instead, he's green. Now, the wings. They're dark red mixed with dark pink. The wings are made out of feathers. Of course, he sheds the feathers, but only a little each year. Then do you see the green scales across his middle back? They are a part of the skin, but not part of the bones. Unlike other dragons, Drago can make its green scales sharp when alarmed, soft when riding him, and hard at times. I drew the tail last, after I drew the legs. The legs are a bit large but strong. The tail is very strong. It glows when it's about to attack with its tail. And his belly blends in with the brown body and neck, but it's actually brown-purple. Drago is a brown dragon. His green scales don't blend in unlike the purple belly, but instead stands out. His skin is as hard as a ignaua's, but smooth like that of a snake's. His claws are green like the green scales on his back, but they are sharp enough to scratch a tree's bark in one hit. His pink wings are strong, like his tail, and it can glow if he attacks you with his wings. Drago breathes blazing red fire when he's healthy. If sick, he breathes nothing but air. But in battle, he can breathe blue fire when angered.

Thanks for reading. :) (but please don't tease me about the doll.)
And about the glowing parts... I got it from Pokemon. ^_^;

RE: Lucky's Drawings

Or you could just keep this thread updated - no new thread necessary.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

What DNA said. Thread revival is fine as long as you have some update for your thread. Staff members prefer that you do so rather than make new threads.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

I already knew that you could revive your thread.... What I meant is that I want to start a new thread with a clean slate. You know, change the title and delete all your posted works and replace them with drawings?

RE: Lucky's Drawings

Okay, I guess I'd be allowed to revive this thread once again if I added something to it. Well, I got bored and drew this dragon while I was at it:

Dragon Ethernal Guardian

Heh, correct me in the title. I can't really spell it. xD

If you want to request a dragon avatar/banner, I'd be glad to accept it. But not too many requests at one time, though.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

Oh, girl.... I've said this too many times on other forums, but I have to say it again.

DO NOT SAVE IN JPEG! IT WILL MAKE YOUR DRAWINGS AND ARTWORK LOOK LIKE A BROWN JELLY BEAN IN A PILE OF EGG WAFFLES!

I swear, your drawings will come out a THOUSAND times better if you save in PNG. Trust me.

Whwn you open up your new avatar gallery, save it in PNG please.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

TFM, I already did save it in PNG. Maybe it's Imageshack's fault. I uploaded it, and it was worse than the original drawing.

I never uploaded any pictures that were saved in JPEG.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

The image above (the "Ethernal Guardian") is a .jpg file type. I don't know if you or Imageshack saved it like that, but the statement remains - that's a .jpg and thus the quality gets absolutely destroyed.

Suffixes aside, my main question regarding the image above is...why is there no shading? Why is it just a bunch of solid colors?

RE: Lucky's Drawings

Hmm... I guess I should save it to either Tinypic or Photobucket instead. Moonsky was originally PNG, but I guess Imageshack saves it like that. I'll switch to Tinypic instead (although it may delete some of my pictures).

And about the solid colors issue, I was originally planning to shade it, but the Midnight color was already dark enough. Plus, I had some problems drawing the shade, so I left the Ethernal Guardian solid, not shaded or 3D. Sorry.

Edit: The quality hasn't gotten any better with Tinypic.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

If the midnight color is already dark enough, you could consider making that color lighter instead, so that way you'd have wiggle room for shading. Just something to keep in mind for the next draft.

Tinypic is great; I actually upload all my banners there, even though I already have a Photobucket account. (It's mostly because Photobucket can only store so much.) However, as far as quality goes, Tinypic and Photobucket are roughly equivalent; just keep in mind that the largest size allowed for either is 1024x1024; anything larger will get resized.

RE: Lucky's Drawings

Uploaded another picture!

19saqq.png

I was actually trying to draw a shiny Rayquaza, but I changed it to "Fakemon" instead. :p

RE: Lucky's Drawings

it looks like a baby Dratini with some spikes

but, again, why is there no shading?

RE: Lucky's Drawings

Yesterday I created a drawing of Shampoo Thief's Shinme. For his use only. :p

Edit: Also this...

fwiqzo.png

It looks so 3D and spooky. I don't even know what that's called. O_O;
