Lugia LEGEND. What's the best engine for it?

I've recently invested in a couple of Lugia LEGEND. I intend to run them, but I need an opinion. What do you think the best engine would be for Lugia to consistently pull out 200 a turn?

Right now I'm staying within two schools of thought:

Electrode': Obvious, right? Research Record/Pokedex to scout most of the cards for Energymite, then blow yourself up to prep Lugia for attacking. Use Twins to pull stuff you need. Straightfoward. Leaves room for crazy tech like Reuniclus and Zekrom.

Feraligatr'/Typhlosion': TyPrime can easily regenerate the Fire Energy lost with Elemental Blast, while Feraligatr Prime can Rain Dance the water when need be. Lightning would be your "once per turn" energy. Energy Retrieval for plucking water and lightning back. Unfortunately, this build provides more clutter, assuming I'm going to be running a 2-1-2 line of each and 3-4 Candy.

There's also the thing about Energy Count. How much is too much? I was considering running 6/7/5/3 Fire/Water/Lightning/Rescue.

Thoughts?

Well, I'd personally go with the Electrode Prime + Twins + Research Records engine, but another viable option would be Typhlosion Prime along with a few Reshiram. Don't forget Lugia LEGEND also has ''Ocean Grow'', which could help it out in a pinch as well when combo'ed with Research Record.

I would suggest running a TyRam kind of deck with Lugia LEGEND in it, or a straight-forward Lugia LEGEND deck running Electrode Prime, Twins engine, and some research records. I would probably run something along the lines like this (Im not describing the TyRam + Lugia LEGEND list, as it's basically a TyRam deck with some modifications to fit in Lugia LEGEND):

Lugia LEGEND + Electrode Prime + Twins + Research Record

Pokémon: (16)

2-2 Lugia LEGEND
4-3 Electrode Prime
2 Zekrom
2 Reshiram
1 Cleffa

Supporters/Stadium/Items (28)

4 Collector
3 Twins
2 N
2 PONT

1 Burned Tower

4 Research Record
4 Junk Arm
4 Communication
2 Switch
2 Super Rod

Energy: (16)

5 Fire
5 Water
5 Electric
1 Rescue

This is just something I thought of within a minute or two, so this is by no means a ''good'' list, but just something to help you get started. The main idea would be to start with Reshiram/Zekrom and use a Energymite to charge them, and start with a Twins engine as soon as possible. Ideally you'll be using Lugia T2, or latest T3 with the help of Twins and the energy acceleration.

Some other techs you might want to consider:

- Kyurem (instead of a Zekrom/Reshiram tech, Kyurem is a great option to counter Donphan with, instead of wasting 3 energy on every hit. Note that Lugia LEGEND is bulky enough (unless Donphan drops Ruins of Alph) to hold it's own against Donphan, it just takes more resources to take one down in this way)
- Shaymin Unleashed (this little guy can help you with conserving energy, or help you out even more when trying to charge Lugia)
- Slowking HGSS/CoL (though Catcher bait, this fella can either help you as a ''sort of'' Research Record each turn, or it can re-arrange your opponent's cards. Risky to use, but the benefits may pay off?)
- A decent enough Fighting type tech (Lugia is weak to Electric types, and while Zekrom can easily KO it, Magnezone and Pachirisu with only a little help can also easily KO Lugia)
- Seeker (this way you can remove damage, recycle your Dragons and Legend, and maybe even re-use ''Ocean Grow'')
- Max Potion (the same as Seeker, this allows you to heal your Lugia LEGEND after it has no energy left)
- Rainbow Energy (this could help you out when you can't find the right combination of energy, but sometimes the 10 extra damage is a drawback you'll need to keep in mind)

I wish you good luck with the deck, and I advise you to beware of decks like ZPST, Magnezone, and the possible Laturn you can run into, especially if Lugia LEGEND is your main focus of the deck.

Don't forget that Rainbow Energy doesn't do 10 Damage if you get it off Ocean Grow. Its only if you attach from your hand.

I once had this crazy idea for lugia ledgend- It would probly be realy slow but run like 2-1-2 of each feraligatr and embor ability and then like 2 pachi and shaymin-it would probly be sooper slow but once u get started you would reck

Electrode is just by far the best engine for Lugia Legend. It gives away a prize, sure. But you'd be lucky if you don't give away 2-3 while setting up 2 Stage 2's.

Eelektrik could work, too. It's faster than a Stage 2, but not being able to attach to the active really makes it complicated. I'm not sure how I'd go about that, honestly.

Eelectrik sounds good, actually. Setting the Lugia LEGEND up from the Bench might be of use. Yeah, Electrode seems to be the most viable option.

How do you intend to get the Lugia LEGEND set up as soon/faster than the Electrode? That'd be my main concern for the deck. I'd run 4 Legend Box.

Npo. Never run Legend Box; that card is so bad it isn't even funny. I once made a deck with literally 1 basic and a ton of legends and 4Legend Box (2-2 of at least half the legends) and used Legend Box around ten times over the course of several matches, and never got a single legend into play with it, let alone with energy on it. Anyway, with 4 Twins, baby engine/mantine, 4 Communication, etc. it should be possible to set up Lugia Legend fairly quickly.

In a deck relying on using Lugia Legend to attack, it seems pretty useless if it only works late in the game on our main attacker, because while Lugia will eb taking a prize every turn after it is set up, many things 1-2HKO it so it can't afford to lose prizes until your deck is that small. Legend Box is just plain awful.

the same goes for electrode prime

seriously rainbow is soo perfect for this

Run both the legends with another 2 ho-oh legend. Add in 4 Legend box and 4 Energy Exchanger. Then put in a 4-4 Slugma Magcargo chain from undaunted. This deck uses the rest of the space in it for energies just split the space left in the deck into 3 then put in those 3 divisions fire, water and electric energies. I have used this deck. It won me the 2011 Autumn Battle Roads in the senior division.

I'm gonna have to disagree. I made a Lugia Legend deck with 4 Legend box. I was able to donk multiple times with an opening hand Legend Box.

What helped alot for me was Ampharos HS. If you can get that set up quickly then you can power up Lugia for about 3 attacks. Plus you also have Ocean Grow getting the energy. It's a great energy acceleration deck if you can pull it off. I was surprised at how fast and powerful it was. It's a little inconsistent but it makes up for it in OHKO'ing everything. It will be useful for the EX's coming out and being able to OHKO everything and get those 2 prize cards.

Ehhhhhh if you have the room with the needed staples then sure put it in but most likely not with all the techs and other things...

This does look like a fun deck, and it can one shot alot of things! But ZPST will destroy this deck!

If you did opt to run Rainbow energy, would it be worthwhile adding in Terrakion from NV? For his revenge attack (1HKO all electric pokemon)
