Nah! I didn't beat you to it. But I rather helped you to confirm the credibility of your thread, since the majority of the replies in this thread, don't contrast with the issue of Pokemon X&Y having the "Lumoise city save corrupting bug". ;)

Surprised they didn't catch this during Beta Testing.
You'd think it would happen to at least one person.

I have heard that this is a rare glitch. I have the eshop version and did not have a problem but I am staying out of there until they have the patch ready. I may just use the patch anyway.:)

I always seem to save indoors in this city, even before I knew about the glitch.
xxashxx, apparently all versions have this glitch.

Nintendo just released a patch that should fix the glitch (as well as any GTS bugs that were apparently out there). Should be on the eShop.

Hallo fellow human beings ;)
I am going to be getting Pokemon Y this weekend, and I want to avoid that bug/glitch thing that messes up your game.
The thing is, my internet has been down all week :/ and I'm posting this from school. Is is possible for me to download it before Friday at a friends house, and then use the game afterwards? Or do I need to have played the game before to be able to download and apply it.

Also, I was wondering, if I let my brother play Y on his 3DS, does he have to download the patch too? Or does it automatically fix the game card like the berry glitch fix did? Thanks in advance.

Yes he does need to download the patch. The patch gets stored on the SD card.
