So regardless of what gets rotated out, XY will more than likely be rotated out. Most mega gardevoir decks I've seen use Aromatisse and Xerneas as key cards in the deck, so will mega gardevoir still be viable in the standard format post rotation?

Well, you could try to use Togekiss EX to replace Xerneas, but it's still slower
There are cards that help it, so don't forget about fairy drop, and the fairy garden reprint.
Like you said, there is always golduck. I think that Sylvion EX would be a good early game attacker
I tried togekiss with ho oh and it never really seemed to work out sadly...
Maybe not an exact reprint, but maybe something like Mr. Mime or Garbodor, where they have the same Ability, but it's not the same card.
But Mr. Mime and Garb were originally from BW sets. Why would they do that for a reprint from the XY block?
I mean they did reprint N and Skyla, which aren't even in xy, so a reprint of a different card is unlikely, but could still happen

Golduck BREAK doesn't really cut it. The free movement of energy around the board is the signature style that lets Fairy Box and everything else Fairy related work.
Specifically M-Gardevoir, Togekiss + Devo Spray might become a thing but without free movement of energy to heal (and *conserve* that energy), and with no free retreat either I don't see it excelling.
And of course, this makes me sad

Hm, you're probably right according to what we have going here now. And that's good, it's a start. Still, Fairy Garden alone won't save Fairy / Gardy; only an XY11 Aromatisse or other powerful Fairy mechanic.
I mean, Fairy isn't exactly a top tier play even today as it is, but perhaps that's a story for another thread.
