Standard M-Houndoom EX

Okay just got the judges I needed, so I eliminated the other level ball for the Judge.

I am also changing the sacred ash for a super rod as I don't usually have to recover more than 3 pokemon and also allows me to get energies back if needed, giving it more versatility.

Gonna edit the deck list now

Reading the comments I think I am going to try the following (this will be momentary, I wanna include a judge more but still don't have it):

-1 Level Ball
-1 Giovanni
+1 Silent Lab (Definitely think it will be very helpful, considering introducing 1 more)
+1 Lysandre

The mulligan strategy is really fun! I will absolutely try it in another tricky deck.

Thanks everyone for the advice :)
That sounds like one of the most interesting and fun ideas I have read/heard in a while. That said, I do not think this is the deck for that kind of strategy. Though, I would love to try it with a single Houndoom EX or even a Glalie EX (I suppose you can simply skip Red Card in this case, however).

As far as the OP's deck is concerned, Entei with the Theta Double Trait could be a magnificent Basic Attacker. It has early Stall/Pressure in the form of Flame Screen and Heat Tackle can OHKO most non-EX Pokemon (period) and Shaymin EX.
I've seen it on PTCGO, but only having one pokemon is risky. What if you have weakness? They could possobly 1 shot the card you use and it might not always wrok out the way you may plan it. Maybe you are lucky/unlucky and get the pokemon on the first few tries ,but the games I saw took about an hour just to start:p

You could also run scorched earth if this deck still has trouble setting up after the shaymins and octillerys :p You can get the energies back with houndooms second attack. Just another CRAZY idea!

Giovanni is not a shaymin replacement and it's extra 20 is the only thing this card has going for it in this deck that's why playing it at 2 is better then playing it at 3 where if you draw it earlier game with no ultra ball it's a dead card in your hand. Playing judge and birch over shauna means drawing more cards and offering better synergy with octillery. And acro bike is better then scorched earth.

Gotta love forums, where everyone thinks everyone knows less then everyone else.

I agree with Yo Yo. Giovanni would be a bit inconsistent, playing Judge and Birch with Octillary makes good sense as it will always draw you up to five. The Glallie deck is played like this and it works really well. 9 out of 10 times it can consistently hit the same number of cards with the draw up or draw down ability -- Ultra balls/Machine Maintenance -- to the opponents hand size. But honestly, it's the reshuffling of the opponents deck with judge that really wins the game. I believe Yo Yo said something about that tactic and it really does throw the opponent off.

I do agree its not shaymin, but it can get mega houndoom to do 180 so in this case I suggest 2-3. This will knock out most exs (*cough* wailord *cough*) not including megas
