Hi Saida!

Could you please specify which set your Pokémon are from so that way we are able to help you on your deck? This way, we can know which card that set is from and are able to determine how to help you! :)

Sure! Apologies for not posting the sets.

With the majority of the Chandelures you are using you would be in the Expanded format. What is your strategy, how are you trying to beat your opponent? This info will help us help you build your deck to a competitive or near competitive level.

I wasn't sure how many of each pokemon I could use. As for a strategy, I would like to be able to simply outlast the other opponent. I'm not sure what good strategies work with the pokemon I have chosen, I just picked two of my favs from my collection to use.

I was interested in the Noble Victories Chandelure for a while. This is the decklist that I would make:

Pokemon: 23
  • 3 Gengar EX (PHF)
  • 3 Chandelure (NVI)
  • 2 Lampent (Plasma Storm)
  • 3 Litwick (NVI)
  • 2 Dusknoir (Boundaries Crossed)
  • 1 Dusclops (FLF)
  • 2 Duskull (FLF)
  • 2 Hoopa EX (AOR)
  • 3 Shaymin EX (ROS)
  • 2 Seismatoad EX (Furious Fists)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 23
  • 4 Professor Sycamore (BKP)
  • 4 Ultra Ball (FLF)
  • 3 VS Seeker (PHF)
  • 3 Virbank City Gym
  • 3 Hypnotoxic Laser
  • 2 Skyla (Boundaries Crossed)
  • 3 Rare Candy (Plasma Blast)
  • 1 Computer Search (Boundaries Crossed)
Energy: 14
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
  • 4 Mystery Energy
  • 6 Psychic Energy

Ok, thank you for sharing that! I will play around with some of those and see what I can make work. :)

Just as a heads up to Saida, there are two different formats in the TCG right now. Standard which goes from sets XY - on, and Expanded which starts at Black and White - on. Are you wanting to go to tournaments or are you simply wanting to learn how to construct a deck to play in a league for fun?

Oh, I'm just 2ant to play for fun. There's a card shop around here that plays every Saturday and I've recently been interested. I'm not sure if the group is very competitive or not or if they play by the formats. I will ask them though. I really just want to play for fun of the game though :)

Well with that said, I'd be more than happy to help you with that!

With that said, the deck you have could be touched up a bit (If you don't have these cards let me know and we'll work around it so this is more of an example of how I would build a deck):

Pokémon:16
  • Manectric EX: 2
  • M. Manectric EX: 2
  • Pikachu: 3 (BKT 48)
  • Raichu: 2(BKT 49)
  • Raichu: 1(XY 43)
  • Raichu Break: 3(BKT 50)
  • Jirachi EX: 1
  • Shaymin EX: 2

Support: 34
  • Professor Sycamore: 4
  • N: 3
  • Colress: 2
  • Lysandre: 2
  • Skyla: 1
  • Hex Maniac: 1
  • Ultra Ball: 4
  • Rough Seas: 3
  • Muscle Band: 3
  • VS Seeker: 4
  • Trainer's Mail: 2
  • Acro Bike: 2
  • Professors' Letter: 2
  • Sacred Ash: 1

Energy: 10
  • Lightning Energy: 8
  • Flash Energy: 2
So the main change I did here was solely focus around a specific line instead of branching out different a variety of Pokémon along with the Support line as well. This way, you able to stay more consistent more frequently and not run in to a series of dead draws or not being able to find the right card you are needing to pull.

You don't have to play this exact deck, it's more of an example of how to construct a deck with a general idea. If you would like to play this deck or any other deck you happen to find or want to build just let us know!

I hope this helps!

Thank you very much! I have all those cards minus the Raichu Break. I will do some reconstructing, I have until tomorrow, that's when my first actual game is.

You're quite welcome!
If you don't have Raichu Break you may be able to get it at the card shop, it's a fairly easy card to find in most places if not, there are some other cards that are just as good and are as playable instead of it.

Especially in an all inclusive format for fun. The card pool is insane, and the combos you could achieve are only limited by your imagination.

The list @SilverSilent is good quality deck that will hold up at a locals for sure. If you would like to still include Chandelure, I am sure we can figure something out. However, if you want to have a deck that will win often, Chandelure is one of those cards that more than likely won't get you there.

I will most likely remove the Chandlures. Thank you all for the help. I will let you all know it goes for sure along with the cards I played with. :D

Thank you all for your help! I won twice yesterday and it was a very fun experience! I did end up making changes to my deck. I replaced the Litwicks, Lampent and Chandelures with 4 Cobalions, 1 Cobalion EX and 2 Heatrans. The Cobalions saved me on numerous occasions because a move it uses renders the opponent unless next turn. Anyway, I thought I would say thanks and let you all know how it went. I will deff be building some decks. :)
