Standard M Rayquaza-EX / Zoroark / Raichu (2017)

Just double checked my list because I had a sleeve shortage. Turns out this list has 64 cards in it. Suggestions on cards to take out?

Hello again. How is Mega Ray going so far this format for you? Everyone at my locals runs darkrai/giratina with parallel city. But I still want to make mega ray work well. Do you maybe want to compare current builds?

I've been getting busted. Both the reasons you mentioned. Parallel city is just devastating and most all decks play it now. Giratina is a bad match up also though sometimes I can speed through it or lyasander around it but once they get the parallel city up and lock it in its game over usually for me. I hope someone has suggestions because I've tried all sorts of variations of Ray decks but right now it just seems like there are other better choices out there for top tier

It's actually performing quite well for me, even though my local also has Darkrai-EX / Giratina-EX running around. Mainly because I'm able to out play them.

Yeah, we can compare lists! PM me though, so we don't blow up other people's notifications!

Honestly, I try and go around Giratina-EX. Or I put them in a situation where they HAVE to play either a float stone on a Garbodor or use a Hex Maniac.

Post em I'd like to see too.

Also, here is an idea I was futzing with. I think its definitely too heavy to make it work well but it would be amazing if it did...

Okay, so this is the list I am currently running. My area has a few Giratina-EX / Darkrai-EX players, so I've made a couple of techs to help for that match-up.

Pokemon: 19
3 Rayquaza-EX (75)
3 M Rayquaza-EX (76)
3 Shaymin-EX
2 Hoopa-EX
2 Zorua
2 Zoroark
1 Pikachu
1 Raichu (XY 43)
1 Vulpix
1 Ninetales

Trainers: 32
3 Professor Sycamore
1 N
1 Lysandre
1 Pokemon Ranger
1 Hex Maniac
1 Skyla
4 Ultra Ball
4 VS Seeker
4 Trainers' Mail
2 Float Stone
2 Mega Turbo
2 Rayquaza Spirit Link
2 Super Rod
4 Sky Field

Energy: 9
4 Double Colorless Energy
5 Basic Darkness Energy

Reasoning for some cards: the Raichu line is for the mirror match / backup attacker. The Ninetales line is to help with Giratina-EX, if I get my stadium out and manage to get it down, it forces my opponent to either play Hex Maniac or activate Garbodor if they want to limit my bench (or KO it, but then that's 1 more Pokemon they have to KO in the long haul). By doing either, it shuts off Renegade Pulse, meaning all I would need to do is play a Pokemon Ranger if I needed to.

I've been considering replacing the Raichu line with another Ninetales line, as I do have Zoroark for the mirror match as well. And once Karen / Brock comes out, as least one of my Super Rod will be replaced.

In my personal opinion, running two separate mega lines will never work. You should only focus on one. If it's M Rayquaza-EX, then that would free up 6 spots which can be used on things like a 4th Ultra Ball and 4th Trainers' Mail for example. Also, if it did work, M Scizor-EX has an attack cost of [M][M], meaning that 2 or your 5 basic energy would have to be committed to him, leaving M Rayquaza-EX a little less helpful.
