Standard M Sceptile/Garbodor

I am play testing a M Sceptile/ Garb and a Sceptile/Ariados/Vilplume and I have found the M Sceptile to be more consistent. But, this deck has a hard time, which I thought it would, against Darkrai/Giratina, does a 50-50 with M Scizor and if you have a bad start against Fire it's almost dead in the water. I have also thrown in Lugia Break and it has had its use for a one hit KO on Regice. I think a Ranger is a definite card in this deck. Maybe be ambitious and sub for the hex.
I don't see Hex at all necessary in this deck, If you need to drop your opponents abilities then you can just do a T2 Garb, so I could see taking out any Hex for some pokemon ranger.

Of the 2 deck variants, which are you finding most useful against the expected, upcoming meta?

Which of your 2 decks are you referring to? I'm finding that the Darkrai-Giratina matchup vs. my M Sceptile-Garbodor deck to be greatly influenced by the first player who can hit the most Max Elixir/Mega Turbo first. Still, M Sceptile EX's repeated healing will tilt the game winning odds to my favor in most games.

No doubt, Fire decks are suppose to be the bane of Sceptile decks, and practically a near auto-loss... Just a really bad match-up.

I have also thrown in Lugia Break and it has had its use for a one hit KO on Regice.
Nice tech idea. Thanks.

To be completely honest it is 50-50. We will just have to see what is more common in the new format. Vilplume/Aridos is great because it gives you the ability to have FFB on sceptile and it gives you more damage output of 150. But the deck is soooo reliant on the abilities. If your opponent has Garb or Hex it shuts it down. Also Carbink/Regice destroys you.

M Sceptile / Garb slows your opponent down enough to build up the sceptile healing loop. But, with the low damage output it gets run on by bulky ex FFB.

So idk we will just have to wait and see. Both are great decks.

I think there is a clear issue with this deck list. I have been experimenting with garb and m sceptile and its necessary to have more energy in your hand to be able to take advantage of sceptiles attack. I have one more prof letter and fisherman in my deck. Also, 13-15 energies is prob necessary as well. Lastly, forest of giant plants is basically useless unless u have some sort of additional energy acceleration like mega turbo or elixir. Still u would need to get sceptile, mega sceptile, the link, forest of plants, energy, and successful use of the elixir/mega turbo to be able to have any added benefit from the stadium card. I have been running shrine of memories with the promo sceptile and it allows mega sceptile to use those attacks when necessary. Now mega sceptile can two shot anything 230hp or less. I also run a hoopa ex.

I think that your thought process on FoGP is rather one sided. Think about it this way, you can set up an energyless M sceptile in one turn then with the active sceptile attach energy. Or if your opponent is playing a powerful ability that targets your sceptile ex and leaving sceptile on the bench for one turn makes him a target (EX Omastar BREAK or Greninja BREAK) you can set sceptile down and go straight to the mega in one turn and now he is protected be theta stop ancient trait.

And I personally can very consistenly get a T1 mega sceptile.
